duals on sprinters

I seen my first sprinter today with rear duals. Is this some thing new? It was on a sprinter for a local heating/cooling company. Would it have that much of a advantage for OTR work? From what I seen of the wheels they didn't look very big.

I think I heard somewhere that on the Dually models you can`t fit a 48"wide skid between the wheel wells.

I think I also heard some contractors have modified the wheel wells to overcome this problem.

You might want to search the EO archives on this.

The one ton has duals. It isn't new, there aren't as many around. It uses 15" wheels instead of 16" like the others. It won't hold a skid without modifying the wheelwells.

if you have 4" cut out of the wheel wells as long as it is done by auth body shop you won't void the warranty
it will cost around 1500 or so more or less than depending on the shop harris truck and body is one of shop that is able to do
as they do alot of mod for dodge dealers in hampton roads area
than you will be able to do a 48 pallet down the middle
with my van able to put 4 pallets down the middle
