Does hdmi output on a smartphone really work?

I'm looking into picking up a used android smartphone for use on Verizon and I'm wondering if one with hdmi is a good strategy for use in the truck.

So does hdmi output on a smartphone really work? Is the picture scaled properly and is the sound reasonably good?

As long as the phone has decent specs then yes it will stream Netflix and Hulu fine. There are also adapters that will work on a phone without micro hdmi out.

Research the phone you are getting, not all phones are created equal. If you don't have a 4G phone now or have an old one you will need to go get a new SIM card.
