Looking to get a different truck. I have had a few in the last 20 years, but things are a bit different now. This truck is used for in town deliveries. needs to be 33k gvwr. My previous few trucks were a 2006 freightliner m2 with MB900, 2007 Hino 338, and a volvo vnl stretched. Now that emissions are a big part of these trucks, I am trying to get a feel for whats best out there now. I liked the freightliner, comfy, good viewing adequate power, The Hino was reliable, had an EGR valve go bad, but that was about it. Not as comfy as freightliner, but felt more of a toy to me. The Volvo, well thats a beast! Huge power, decent fuel, but maneuverability is awful and cost of maintenance is through the roof. Here is where I am at for options right now
2014-2016 Kenworth T370 ISC or ISL with allison 3000
2013-2016 Freightliner M2 ISC and allison 3000
2015-2016 International 4300 L9 and allison 3000
2015-2016 Hino 338 with allison 3000
I have driven them all except the kenworth. To me there is not a whole big difference in drive-ability and ride quality if they all have air suspension. Does it really boil down to cost and mileage of truck? I welcome all opinions!
