Did You Vote?

Just finished up reading the posts about our new president. So many people whining, ***ching, etc. I was just wondering how many of you actually took the time to vote? I, for one, didn't get to the voter's booth, so I have no right to speak up, thus I have sat quietly, disappointed in the outcome, but it is what it is.

I wonder how many of you that have complained about Obama went to vote. Did you go home to vote, did you early vote or send in an absentee ballot? I am willing to bet that 75% of you didn't get to the polls.

If you really dispise this man, than MOVE! I'm sure they'd be happy to have you relocate to the Middle East.

Politicians are voted by the people and they make decisions for the people, but the people (us) never seem to take an active part in what the hell is actually going on. We go on day after day in our lives fussing, ***ching about what is going on in the country, but we do anything about it?

Things are tough for most of us these days. So if you want to whine, do it to your Congress, Senate and the President.

BTW, men whine more than women!

Yes I voted Absentee. As for "whining" and not "doing anything, I have posted links here for people to write to there reps on issues. These are links that i use all the time. Petitions to congressmen, faxes to local and state politicians, Letters to business that advertise in newspapers that have printed the names and addresses of CCW permit holders in the newspaper, to inform those advertising that as a group (the gun organizations that i belong to) have decided we will boycott their business because of the support for those newspapers with the ad dollars.

2A is my pet project and most of my efforts go there. But I also contact elected reps on other issues, including the border agent issue, the nafta and cafta issues, trade embago issues and more. You can believe I will be in contact with my elected rep each time osamaba brings up one of his unconstitutional socialist projects for a vote.

Now with all of that being said, I'd be more then happy to post the links for anyone here to contact your elected reps whenever an issue that I contact my reps on comes up. But something tells me, I'd hear about that too. :D

Oh and as far as leaving, thats the beauty of our counrty, we don't have to support the president or his policies to support the country and the constitution, they are totally seperate of each other, so we that have no use for the president, we can speak out and still live here.....:D

I voted the first day of early voting. I haven't missed an election since I gained the privilege of voting. That's what gives me the privilege of voicing an opinion here in the soapbox.

I will do EVERYTHING I can to eliminate the Marxists that would seek to destroy this country. I am FREE now and will die FREE. Stick that in your ear, Obama. You can't rule or control me. By the way, all you polititions, don't forget, I don't work for you. You are NOT my boss. So STICK IT!!!!!! Layoutshooter

I turned down three load offers and drove home from London, ON to northeast Ohio to vote (.... and it wasn't for Obama or McCain ......)

Never have done the absentee thing before .... so I was too late to the party on that and had to drive back.

Henderson Country went for Obama, as did seven other counties.

Ever seen this? It's pretty interesting. You can click on a state, and then see how individual counties voted. You can also see how the counties and districts voted in the other races, like the House, Senate, Governor (if your state had a governor's election this time around) and any other measures that were on the ballot.

Turtle, thank you for posting the election results map of our beloved Kentucky. Our state has 120 counties and Obama managed to carry 8 of them.

We have much work to do in those 8 counties. This creeping incrementalism by the Democrats must be STOPPED!

Not that I'm too concerned about Obama winning Kentucky in 2012. Pol Pot would carry Kentucky ahead of Obama.

EO's kind of like a TV. If you don't like what's on, change the channel. If you're tired of political discourse, don't come to the soapbox. It really is that easy.

I voted.

Hate to tell you, but Lenin's dead. ;):D
...... real cute there 'Hawk .......

As far as Vladimir Ilyich being deceased tho' .... I gotta tell ya ..... with all the frothiness, sputterifying, spewilating, and the general uncontrolled drooling that's been going on around here lately ..... I was pretty much absolutely sure that ol' Vlad (as we all fondly liked to call him back in the day) had returned to the flesh incarnate ........ ya know - risen from the grave, exactly 85 years after they stuffed him into that sarcophagus ....... and that he or someone else had forgotten to drop me a card or pick up the phone to let me know ....

But thanks - it's nice to hear that he's still a mouldering in the grave ...... and that I wasn't forgotten or overlooked .....
