2 AM Montana back roads, deer. You betcha. Unless you've experienced, it you can't imagine it. It's not much different from driving through the streets of the French Quarter during Mardi Gras. OK, it's not quite that crowded, but it's close. (Although driving through Roundup, MT at 2 AM is exactly like that, where you have to wait for the deer to part way so you can drive through a sea of mule deer.) Rather than slowing down 5 MPH, I'd recommend slowing down to about 40 MPH on those 2 lane backroads in Montana at night.
