Usually the busy times are from 0700 - 1800. After that it will be a crap shoot until the next morning. The reason being 90%+ of the freight moves during the daylight hours.

Or, they call you at 2230 with a 700 mile direct after you stayed awake all day, and act bummed when you turn it down cos you don't feel safe to do it :p

To most dispatchers there's no difference between offering you a load 9pm than there is at 9am. There's a huge difference, especially if you've been awake most of the day already. A driver can't sleep all day every day. If you turn down a late pick up, long haul direct delivery you get punished in some form with most companies when in reality your doing the right thing. We all want to make it home to our families.

My experience hasn't been mostly day light moves. I seem to do a lot at night. I believe because their second shift dispatchers are stronger.
