Considering Taking The Plunge

This is to all recruiters. I have a class B CDL w/hazmat and air brakes. Getting read to upgrade to Class A. I can continue to drive straight trucks and also drive T/T with my company when I get the class A. When I get some experience with T/Ts...I may consider buying a truck. Probably a T/T, but would consider sticking with straight trucks if it benefited me.

I want a balance between money and home time. Right now, I get a lot of home time but not as much money as I would like. I live in Terre Haute IN. What I would like to do is this. Drive for 5-6 days doing expedite or general freight. Then come home for a few days. Is it possible for me to make about $3,000 a month after expenses doing that? If so, with what companies and which type of truck?
