Class of CDL required for a straight truck

While the wife was reading her training manual, she looked at me and said,

"the book says that class A CDL was for any combination 26,001 lbs or more with the vehicle being towed over 10,000 or more. Which CDL am I going to have to have if it says that class B CDL is for any vehicle 26,001 or more"?

That can be kind of tricky the way it's worded. So, my question is, If she is going to be driving a straight truck, which class is she going to have to have?

A straight truck is a single vehicle, not a combination vehicle (unless you tow another vehicle behind it).

Thanks for the replies. I don't have intentions of doing combination vehicle anymore. The wife doesn't want TT either.
