Here is my problem with Dems........I greatly enjoy listening to anybody who has a point of view that is supported by fact. What really is a terrible thing is when you listen to somebody try to make a point about the President being a sell out and an idiot, blah blah blah, and can not support there reasoning other than "because he is!" I agree with about half of what our President has done. I am a conservative Republican, and he is not. I voted for him because I thought he would be advancing a conservative agenda; he does not. He goes out of his way to bow down and play nice with some of the most notriously destructive Senators and all he gets in return is a knife in the back.
And as a result, the people who voted for him get a knife in the back.
The other thing I can not stand is the hypocracy related to things that Democrats and Republicans say in public. For instance, Charlie Rangle (sorry if that is spelled wrong) just spouted off the other night about Southern Red Necks and how Clinton was indeed a Red Neck. A Democrat can say that. If it was a Republican, there would be an investigation right this moment going on, involving possible racism and prejudice in the Republican ranks.
Why did I vote for Bush? Because I can not stand the fact that I have a full time job, my wife has a full time job, we live in a trailer, and we still can not afford to put money away for our future. If the average American had to file quarterly taxes like most of us do, there would be a revolt over night, and a change in the system would be demanded. I dont know about anybody else, but 60% of my income going to the Government seems to be a little excessive. This leads me to another point. There is no way any intelligent person can look at the current state of Social Securtiy and say that there is no problem with it. The proof is in the facts, and the facts are that eventually, it is going to cost so much to pay retirees, that the average American is just going to say "forget this!" Why work if you are taxed to the point of bankruptcy. The President is demanding reform, and how dare he actually suggest that a working American be able to invest a small percentage on their own, in the hopes of doing better than a 1% return, which is currently what one would see.
Its all about big Government. I dont want it and some do. Unfortunately, there are so many idiotic knuckleheads, that dont vote, have no clue, and would have it no other way, that we are getting exactly what they deserve.
The Democrats, at least a large percentage of them, are bankrupt in the arena of ideas. They have nothing to offer in the way of solutions, only attack others and say "their idea will not work!"
The modern day Democrat appears to be so radical, that it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Look at Ted Kennedy. Lets not even talk about how he should be in prison right now for leaving a woman to drown, so as he would not tarnish his own "reputation" so many years ago, but the man has no solution, no ideas, just attacks. He is such a terrible presence in the Democratic party that I do not understand how he keeps getting re-elected, but his constituents do, and they get exactly what they deserve.
Ill just end this rant by saying that I have always voted on issues, and not parties. If John Kerry actually had some great ideas on how to get out of the conflict that we are in, in the middle east, I would have considered him for my vote. Unfortunately, all he did when asked a tough question was to say to check his website, its all laid out there. That left a whole lot of us just shaking our heads.
Bush was not the best person I could have found for President, but when I reach deep down inside and ask if I could trust a modern day Democrat with keeping me and my family safe, I have to say, Hell No!
I could spend another 2 pages just commenting on that, but Im going to let it go.
I anxiously await to hear other peoples view points. Nothing pleases me more than to engage in good "verbal" sparring, because it all comes down to one thing, the facts, and they are usually irrefutable.
