Hey all.
I just recently replaced my 99 5.7L with a new 05 Chevy with the new 6.0L gaser.
My question is to those of you who have made the same change, do you notice much differance in performance and maintence cost with the new engine? To me it seems to offer much more power and at the same time I am getting the same 15 to 16 mpg. Are there still problems with the fuel pump? I also noticed that the egr valve isn't in the same location as the 5.7 and the exhaust is much bigger. I also found that the floor is thinner when installing the subfloor. Got to love the four wheel disc brakes too. Im not to sure about the oil life sensor though. It doesn't go off till nearly 10k miles. I don't think it is a good idea to change oil 10k miles even when runing senthetic. Anyway, any input would be helpful.

As a former lubrication guy...that sold what I consider to be the best product out there.......my advise is:

1. Do Oil Analysis at regular intervals and set your oil changes eticsaccordingly.....(many independent labs will offer this).

2. Use good oil filters and change your filters regularly if your oil analysis is still showing no problems with the additive packages or engine wear.. (i.e. change filters @ 8k and oil every 2nd filter....) just an example......

As long as a dozen years ago ( mayber longer ) we were successful at taking diesels to extended drain intervals of 60k ...changing filteras at 8-10k .....with analysis....

Pure synthetics are OK...but a good a parafin based oil blended with the correct additave package...will give you better performance....
Less friction...better dispersion......

I recently switched my "02" Dodge 5.9 V-8 to my old companies products at 50k miles on the engine....and I got 3-4 MPG improvement the very next day......

I don't sell for this company anymore...but I will use their products until ...well until something better comes out....
I'll be happ to post the name of the company for anyone wanting to get products....

Thanks for listening
