Changing Avatar

I have been trying to change my avatar I go into edit choose change avatar choose option 2 pick a picture from a file on my computer and it says upload failed what am I doing wrong?

A few things. One the image maybe too large, try reducing the size. It also may be an unsupported file type. A .jpg or .gif is always the best format.
