I know I'm running a dinosaur and do not expect much response here, but some might find this interesting. I discovered on an RV thread where someone has come up with a post HEUI pump filter system that will save your injectors from shrapnel and having to clean out the oil galley; Injection Filtering System to Protect Your Diesel HEUI Pump Injection
Also Caterpillar has come out with a dual tapered bearing HEUI pump for heavy equipment applications that reduces the chance of bearing failure. You can check your HEUi's part number for a cross reference here or see attached; file:///C:/Users/doug/Downloads/SM%20Heui%20(1).pdf
I have no affiliation with these products and have not installed either. I plan to do the filter soon. Caterpillar warranty just paid for my 8th HEUI pump in 1.6 million mi.s (long block installed w/ warranty at 1.2 million mi.s). Warranty just ran out and now it's on me, so looks like this filter system may be some good insurance.
