Contribution of energy drinks
Before his death, Dean said in an interview that he suspects that his consumption of energy drinks may have contributed to his ill health. Though alcohol is the major reason for liver failure, fatty foods also cause a condition known as non-alcoholic steotohepatitis, which in turn causes liver damage and liver failure.

Energy drinks are high in caffeine, so much that regular consumption may trigger a heart attack in a teenager. A 2010 study published in Cancer Research journal pointed out that cancer cells readily metabolized fructose to increase proliferation. Meaning that sugar not only feeds the cancer cells, they use sugar to perform cell division and speeding up the growth and spread of the cancer.

We had a guy using our gym for a few months last year who was visiting America from France. In his 70's now, he was a world-class body builder decades ago, placing third in the Mr. Universe contest and first as Mr. France two years in a row.

He was the picture of health and flexibility for a man his age, having given up much of the size young body builders have. He said that many of his fellow competitors are now dead because of unhealthy steroid use and other practices. He steered clear of that and now lives to tell the story.
