Make sure your air brakes are adjusted properly prior to Sept. 5th. The CVSA is doing a big (brother watching you) campaign on that day. Even if you think they are OK, twitch all your slack adjusters to be sure the shoes are contacting the drums with the parking brake applied. If you don't know how to check or adjust them, have your mechanic do it before the 5th. The so called "automatic" adjusters don't always work either. This should keep you out of trouble. If you don't you might not like the fines some states impose for misadjustment. Take it from me personally, I "slacked off" once in NJ. Total fines and court cost? $460.00 x(
