Where is the April thread? Did WOM's exit destroy a tradition? It's the 3rd

For locations, I'm working locally (Southern Ontario) and hiding in my house in between. I have the "get out of jail" paper too saying I can cross border and drive interstate. But, I'm not entering a country taking this less seriously than we are.

Which brings me to: what's left?

Do you have a clean record? Apply for every weird certification you can find. I started with "hazmat" (dangerous goods here) and while that has paid off in $$ per mile, I've had less than 10 since I got it.

The weirder certification has now come back and I'm accepted. I have as much work as I need going forward, as I'm the only one to pay to go thru it at out company (AFAIK). Now I started this process a year ago, but here we are...

I hope.everyone is staying as safe as they can

Guess I should give a update. After the world ended, I rescinded my resignation with Schneider (for the moment). However, in the process I did lose my truck :(
I now have a 2015 no-frills beater. So bad I haven't even taken a picture of it yet.
Wait a minute, let me run out and get one :p

It don't look horrible, I'm sure it was a better truck 620,000 miles ago

So I started off 5 days broke down in Carlisle Pennsylvania between mechanical and technical support failures with my tablet (Their version of a Qualcomm). Fortunately, I got breakdown pay.

After that, I rejoined the front line to bring much need supplies to America.
A Hot load of assorted snack foods and peanut butter and jelly to Monroe, Ohio.
No time to stop, Pittsburgh needs beer
My next delivery will be non-stop with a armed escort
Oh Yeah, it's the good stuff :p

Set a record that I'm not pleased with.

I drove 7 hrs straight in the Semi today
Far beyond my normal 2 1/2-3hr break times.
I'm not sure why my bladder didn't explode. I think the longest I ever drove before was 5 hrs and that almost didn't end well :p

Not a very healthy thing to do sitting and holding it so long. But for some reason neither were a factor today. Maybe my lack of opportunities to stop had something to do with it

Today's venture started north of Columbus Ohio will end in the morning in Richmond Virginia.
Was not a fun route in a tractor trailer, but oddly still enjoyable at times.

Stopped for the night in Virginia. Took a extra long walk. Time to eat & chill

I have to make the mother of all trips today. It will test my skills not only as a driver but as a human being. The journey may be low in miles but the last mile may be the most arduous a man can ever face. I have prepared and practiced for the last 2 days. For you longtime EO members, I have even planned and practiced my reaction drills. If I don't make it know that I love you all.........I am.......going to Costco.

$6?

No wonder you quit.

(Still a good choice to go back IMO, it's too disorganized to be switching places right now unless you're out of work)

The shutdowns definitely played a large part with me staying for now. Plus a delay in where I was going helped seal the deal.
That said, the delay is over, and this should be my last week (again)

Don't break your habit! It's so easy to get lost in the drive, especially with no clutch. The reason I'm off the road is because I drove for long stretches without breaks, and got blood clots because of it. First time it killed a small part of my lung, second time my lungs were filled with little ones. Take care of yourself, number one. The freight is not that important.
