You'd think that with all those scientists, it would occur to one of them to publish the finding in a scientific journal.

And they would, if it had any scientific validity.

Yep. Scientists have been faking stuff and inventing data since the scientific method was invented. But it's that same scientific method that gets them in the end.

Still have to question everything. Are there "strange" things found in mines? Seems to be. How do they get into places where they have no business being? It would be interesting to find out. Can we expect "main stream" science to study it? I am not sure. It is possible to imagine where good scientists who might take an interest in "strange" things who would not do so to avoid the scorn.

Politics comes into play as well. Like the lack of study on pot for example.

There is much about the "natural" world that cannot be explained, much of which is never even explored.
