Below are two GE CFM-56 engines just loaded on our deck at GE in the Dallas/Fort Worth area bound for Chile. We delivered them to Miami International Airport to be loaded onto a cargo jet and flown to their final destination.
Once arriving at MIA, airport security escorts us into the cargo area that we will off load at. Along our route we commonly encounter inbound and outbound jets taxying as we travel through aircraft crossings. They always have the right of way so we stop and wait for them to closely pass by us.
After the aircraft is clear our escourt continues our journey to the stagging area where we will off load the two engines. No sooner did we get stagged, security had to quickly relocate us approximately 75' to our driver's side to make room for an inbound jet loaded with produce grown in South America. As we were unloading, that jet was quickly off loaded, fueled restocked and cleaned for it's return flight.
Once we have taken our tarps off of the engines and unchained them from our deck, they are off loaded onto the ground and placed onto and strapped to an aircraft shipping tray and then loaded into the aircraft's cargo hold.
