I received a e-mail from Petro saying that as of Feb 1st the following travel centers will no longer be a part of the Petro network. The following were as follows:

Elkton, Md
Carnesville,Ga
Ruther Glen, Va
Florence, Sc

That is all it said, no reason given.I wonder if one person owns all 4 of those, and decided to change companies.

Ruther Glen I do know was independently owned and BTW had one of the finest buffets around, I hope that they just change names and stay open its hard to find a good place to eat at anymore

We noticed a few weeks ago that the Petro in Milton, PA is no longer Petro. Not sure how long it's been that way.

The Milton, Pa Petro has been that way for awile, and I was shocked to see that.It just wasn't the same.I am in mourning over all these Petro's changing to something else, I love Petro food, etc.I truly believe they are one of the last truckstops left that cater to truckdrivers over rv's, cars, etc.

Petros are the best. They have good food, nicer showers, a big movie room for the drivers, and not to mention I do all of my clothes shopping at petro. You can't beat two pairs of pants for 20 bucks. I am too shocked to hear of this news. I used to hang out at the Petro in Carnesville all of the time waiting for loads. I like to be able to watch movies in the nice movie room they have there.

Geeze, it's gonna get to the point where we are going to have to take over local and state parks just to have a place to relax on the weekends! I can see it now, a pack of wild dirty cargo vans rolling into a neighborhood park with OVM as the lead driver. Then we all pull up and bust out our barbecue equipment and tents. lol.

That surprises me, I was there not too long ago, and I thought they cleaned it up alot since the old days. Not once did I get bothered in the front lot, and when one of those type of people entered the lot, they were being escorted out quickly. If a truckstop has an issue, believe, me, I will E-mail their corporate office letting them know of it.I spend too much money at them to accept anything less than the best.

Ditto on the terrible coffee.

I make my own hot water for grits and oatmeal.

The hot water taps on coffee machines taste musty to me.

Being a cube van, I would use my fuel credits and shower at the J in Knoxville, but eat at the Petro across the road.
