P2471 exh gas temp circuit high (4th from upstream). I monitored the DPR outlet temperature sensor from the BCU. (The ECM only showed one exhuast gas temperature, but it was for the EGR). In the BCU, The other DPR temperature sensors showed numbers that made sense, but the DPR outlet reads -456 deg when key on, engine off. It doesn't matter if the exhaust has been warmed up or not. When I start the engine, the temperature climbs from there -456 deg to 1376 deg in about 3 or 4 minutes. Once it reaches 1376 deg, it suddenly shows -449.4 deg and stays there. I'm thinking it's not actually reading the sensor. This is just the regular routine it goes through when I can't read the sensor. Is this correct? Do the sensor wires go to the BCU or the ECU? If I get continuity in those wires to the BCU, does thismean the BCU is faulty or could something else be causing this?
