Mechanical 2002 freightliner sprinter transmission problems

Early today the truck was driving fine. When I try to park at home, I shifted into revers and the truck will not move. I turn it off and back on and it moved. Now the truck will not shift out of 2nd gear. When in drive (D) I am unable to change gear, it stays in "D" even if I try and shift through the gears manually. I'm not get a check engine light. I did get a brake Pad warning light it looks some thing like this (O) I check the brakes and the driver side was cut. I fix it but still Im having the problem.

The truck was a FedEx truck. It has 240000 miles, it was driving good.

Any ideas?

I have the same truck and had the exact same problem at 312k miles back in 2012. I had to do some hunting but finally found the service report. Other then clearing the codes, they replaced the brake switch $85. Which sounded to easy, but I never had another problem. Hope this helps.
