I am gathering info on my first truck choice , Nothing is in stone but It seems that a 1-ton box between $12k- $20k is for me. First -DUAL WHEELS VS. SINGLE AND BOX SIZE. My concerns with dual wheels are MPG and cost and added effort of air checks and changing a flats. I am looking at a SRW 12' box .
i have seen some dual rears with 15' box ,can you be too big. thanks in advance for reply

The vehicles that seem to be safely within the weight limits are sprinter and cargo vans.

There are debates on if the small box trucks really are within the weight because often the weight posted on the door of the vehicles were posted as a cab and chassis.

So heads up, often if you have dual wheels, you’re in dot range.

Log books and weigh stations would be required. Still no CDL required though
