Heading to Dallas after the new year, 4th largest metro area in the US. Should be some good opportunities to tap into. Looking for a hitch trailer installer, MI/OH area. Any recommendations?

Would like to install my trailer brake controller in a couple weeks. Any recommendations that do good work for a fair price around the rust belt states? Any SoCal LA based expedite companies?

Getting tired of running uship ready to go back into expedited freight. Uship rates are getting rediculously low and it takes forever to book a load waiting and waiting weeks before departure, imagine the carriers are mixing corporate freight in to be able to do it that cheap. Should be plenty...

Looking for Carrier that will take on a 06 Sprinter

Looking to get back into expediting in May this year and need a good carrier. I've decided not to invest 35k in a straight or a 15/16 Sprinter and just keep using the Sprinter that is paid off. Currently running uship part time and can move anywhere with my current ratings but it takes massive...

Will there be Sprinter loads from Detroit/Chicago to Tx 12/27-12/30?

Looking to get out between those dates not going to make it this week back (the 140 broke down in Chicago, no crank no start hopefully starter fixes tomorrow or neg battery cable) in time to set up for Thursday or Friday. I was wondering if there will be loads that week or not? I suppose Chicago...

Would you take Higher Rate and less Miles or More Miles and Lower Rate?

It seems Cargo Van rates are .75 to .85 w/ surcharge for most carriers with other carriers paying .90-$1.00 a mile offering less miles per week. With average mileage guarantees by recruiters around 1000-1500 depending on carrier. Can someone chime in and give us something a little more of what...

Which carrier pays the most, keeps you busy, values drivers and low weekly fees?

Really have heard good things about bolt express these days, I heard the weekly fees can be cut to under $50 with the new smart phone tracking qual comm on its way out! Looking to get back in part/full time and run some loads coast to coast in my Sprinter 158. Any advice on carriers that have...

Personal Miles while driving a fleet owner Truck.

So I have a driver that is finally quitting with essentially only a couple days notice (enough for them to get their stuff dropped off at home and return the truck). I'm asking the driver politely to make sure that the miles from their house and back to where the truck is being dropped off at...

Who's decision is it to determin which loads the truck takes, Driver or Fleet Owner?

Example Driver takes a run that pays for 120 miles but is 425 miles all in with deadhead and moving back to good freight area. Driver gets 150 bonus. Fleet owner ends up making $48. I don't think many fleet owners would want their trucks going 425 miles for $48, just doesn't seem worth it...

Who is the Best, most Affordable, most Knowledgeable at stretching Volvo frames?

If I bought a truck i'd get a class 6 pete or KW or a volvo class 8. Cost keeps me looking at the class 6 trucks but the Volvo's I hear ride like Cadillac's :) Who knows I may just stick with the sprinter. If I go straight I'd use it for local freight and Uship but I want a sleeper so there is...

Class 6 Truck Ok for Expediting?

Was interested in buying a class 6 truck, probably just do local for now. One day I might want to add a 72" sleeper and run loads all over the West Coast and rest of US/Canada. Would a 18 or 20ft box be ok? Would a hazmat and a reefer allow me to run with a smaller box?

A Sprinter Driver wants.... are these acceptable terms?

The driver wants the following. fleet owner to pay all truck fees minus $20 a week 100% of all bonuses (layover, hand swap, bonus for anything extra/additional that comes through qc) All empty moves and dead head miles paid 60% to driver 40% to fleet owner (driver pays fuel) Are these...

The Cat running low on freight in all places except Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland

Any other carriers experiencing the same? Is cargo van/sprinter freight just down at a very low point. I'd imagine mid march it will pick up but I've never seen it this bad. 2 loads a day in Atlanta, we are having to limit the amount of miles that we can travel outside of these cities...

    Paying a driver

Correct me if I'm wrong. The set up I have is 60% to driver (driver pays fuel) 40% to owner. Driver gets 60% of settlement (check) plus 100% of the dead head and empty move. Anything that comes in such as a bonus, layer over, Canadian border cross is added to the check and split 60 to driver...
