High oil pressure - 3126 engine

Getting high oil pressure. Mechanic said it could be an oil pump, or just a sensor. He also mentioned another part I forget, that shouldn't go out til around 750k (I have 526 on mine). Any ideas?

    Cat C-7

What are the ups and downs of the Cat C-7? Is it a 500k engine, or a 750k? How does it compare with the 3126?

    Changing Engine

I have a Cat 3126 engine in my truck, and have been thinking about swapping it out for a Cummins. Just wondering what I'd be looking at for a price - new and rebuilt. Also, does anyone have ideas on financing for said venture?

    Inverter Cable

I have a 2000 watt inverter, which will be approx 15' away from the batteries. What gauge wire should I use? I was thinking 2 or 0.

    Jacking truck prices up.

Just got off the phone with FYDA. The T-300 they are selling on truckpaper is the same truck that's been advertised here for 25,000. The new price? 34,900. A few months ago, a local guy was selling a 2007 Argosy straight truck for 35,000. Ellenbaum bought it, and it's new price is 58,900...

    Rigmaster owners...

My neighbor informed me today that he was told an alternator for a rigmaster costs around $2500. Now I've always thought, and still do, that rigmaster is the best APU out on the market. I understand that occasionally there will be a unit sold that always seems like it needs fixing. And...

Tire brands/ Tires in the Detroit area

CBA Tire in Taylor is a decent spot to get new tires. Granted, my nephew works there, and I got a small discount because of that. I'm not plugging them for that reason. LOL I'm plugging them because I had to change crap steers after 50,000 miles, and they charged less for Bridgestones than the...

A/C metal contamination aka black death

Has anyone run across this? Apparently, the compressor breaks down and sends metal shavings throughout the system. Once the accumulator gets clogged, the a/c stops puting out cold air. After 2 hours of troubleshooting, the mechanic finally found the problem. One way of finding it is the high...

    Rotella antifreeze

Just some info for those who have to use the special red stuff in their trucks. In the Detroit area, I found it at Murrays for $13/gal for 50/50. Autozone doesn't carry it. Out of curiosity, where do you pick it up? How much more is it at a truck stop?

    International engine problems

I've heard that on the 2004 model Internationals, that the engines fail rather early. Apparently, half of the exhaust gets sent back into the engine as an emmisions thing. That gums up the engine and causes it to fail. Has anyone heard about this and possibly give me more info? Thanx :)

    Rear end change

My nephew and I are being given a chance to take over payments on a 2004 Alumib(j)unk International 7500. Overall, it's a nice truck. But, doing some research, I've found those trucks were city trucks (possibly dump truck builds) converted into expediters. It's obvious the rear-end is made for...

    Truck probs in Muskogee

Stuck here in OK with a phantom problem. After I stop for awhile, then start it back up, I drive for a very short distance and it cuts out. After it sits for about a half hour it starts again. The first place I took it to was a small shop. All they did was change a fuse which didn't need...

    Used dolly legs

Time has come to get some legs put on the ol' beater. About half the hi-lo drivers worry when going into my truck, even though it has tandems in back. Well... it does drop a bit when they use the heavy forklifts :7 Where can I find some used dollies around Detroit? I know a trailer repair...

    Pain in the knee

Is it me, or are there other tall drivers who believe trucks aren't made for them? I'm 6'4", have an FL106, and a new clutch that everyone says feels great... except me. To me, the clutch feels like lead because my leg can't extend. And, of course, the seat is made for someone 5'9" and will not...

Do you see anything screwy here?

I'm looking at this truck to buy. My wife and I noticed the wheels are an awful lot forward on the box. I read on another site that a longnose Pete on the front of his straight 8 made it so virtually nothing could go toward the front of the box because the front axle weight was maxed. Do you...

    Freightliner highway robbery!

I was wondering if anyone had any dealings with Wolverine Freightliner West in Ypsilanti, MI. If so, how did yours go? Here's mine: Started out Friday when I took the truck in for a faulty reading on the coolant temp gauge along with a few other things which they neglected to fix the week...
