    Considering Team Expediting.... Opinions?

You may find driving for someone else or even Contracting to a Carrier extremely stifling a lot of times with the "big brother" and petty bs that you will experience. Keep your Authority it will come in handy. Inevitably you will wonder what other freight is out there besides what "they" are...

    New To Expediting...need Florida feedback

I'd suggest you not get tunnel vision with either fedup as a Carrier or, the 24 day rule. If, you are stuck with a strict 24 day requirement (in your mind) and find yourself running hard, and put it in the wind for home on day 24......you will do yourself a great disservice.

    Where to go?

Maybe you should look at how you are using your communication device with your Carrier. I've heard tell about folks not paying attention at Orientation.

    West Coast Business Question

Seems to be plenty of them running. I could of used some TT but never got to that stage. Maybe some of the TT operators will chime in and give some info on todays climate. We also had great success using curtain sides on ST. Best to ask the Carrier/s you are looking at as to what type of...

Why not buy a class 8 tractor and lease to an Expedited Carrier.......unless you are getting barn sour? Seems to be way plenty of Expedited tractor freight.

    Vehicle Question / Which Carrier

I guess you missed the operative word "myself", and no groveling or employee mentality here.

    Vehicle Question / Which Carrier

I love getting paid and paid well. However I do prefer to take care of it myself rather than be on the dole and grovel for it.

    Vehicle Question / Which Carrier

Y'all gotta understand the employee mentality in that statement.

    Vehicle Question / Which Carrier

I would use the total list of the Carriers that advertise on this site until you find one that would accept you and your Sprinter and insurance coverage. You then would have the advantage of finding your own freight if things get slow, or, if the stars line up, getting a two or three banger...

    Newb seeks guidance...

Allthough I would rather be "lucky" than good anyday, there is still things that as in all of life that you have to practice to give you that "when preparation meets opportunity" moment. LUCK! I believe they are dilligent research, work ethic, adventurous spirit, being able to sluff off...

Staying busy in a Sprinter on the West Coast

Retired driver? You know how to speak the speak to shippers and recievers. Why not do a bit of free lancing with your own DOT number and stay as busy as your ability allows?? Go knock on some doors and test the water?

    Fed Ex Orientation

Yes, and eat hearty!! There are NO free lunches. Get your times worth there in free grub if you go, because there will be a cost involved. I see by another post you have a month or so to explore other venues........suggest you do just that!!

    Tandem Axle Straight Truck Help

I used a Heavy Pete 330 for loads like you are typing about. Did really well for that type application. I was otr with mine, it is still in service running otr with i'd estimate 750K+. Just don't skimp on the HP. Also, you'll need 4 axles to CARRY 30K.

    Cargo Van/Own Authority Start Up

I understand. However, ya gotta pay the bills early on. Wouldn't get too concerned about factoring.....only at the last resort.....when you get the pipeline full there will always be some flowing out as long as you are consistent with your follow up billing calls. I was in your boots 15 years...

    Cargo Van/Own Authority Start Up

Well then, seems to be plenty of nay sayers as usual. And, you have to consider your 8 years in the biz prolly exceeds many of experiences they have had. Gunner, There are many ways to enter this business, all the means entered by have a failure rate of equal proportions. Safest and less lucrative would be to drive for an owner untill you get a fix on what type of equipment you really want. Most enter the biz with a cookie cutter single axle...
