    Continuous DEF Problems with Sprinters

All I know is, twice I have purchased a new diesel-powered van. Following each purchase, there was an immediate and unrelenting increase in the price of diesel fuel. :) Stay safe, KG

POLL How Do You Keep Warm?

I have the Espar B4 and it will roast you when it is cold out if you turn up the temp on the controller to 65deg. Try using a setting of 60 or 61 or even lower.

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

My thoughts on the 3 purchase options you listed. The Sprinter option although a sweet van has apparent diesel issues and a small dealer network.. The Promaster with the front wheel drive setup would not appeal to me for expediting use. The Ford gasser with a large dealer network would be my...

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

Perhaps if your company only runs Sprinter vans you would not feel that you could not see a load. However with companies that run both Sprinters and CV's it is possible that dispatch would be inclined to "save" Sprinters in a busy area for that larger load. True there are less CV's in the...

Cargo Van Need opinions on van replacement

As CV owners we only see the loads that we see on any given day. It may be true that CV's with less than 3 pallet length and only 50" height miss loads on a regular basis due to their limited capacity. It may also be true that Sprinter size vans miss loads on a regular basis due to their excess...

    Justify a diesel engine option.

I have owned in the past 2 diesel expedite vans. Both were pre- new generation diesels. I was pleased with them but always had a nagging doubt as to whether the economics of the diesel option could be justified. The price difference of fuel and the purchase cost premium the 2 big factors...

    Nice headlights

Try looking into Hella replaceable headlamp fixtures. They use the 3 prong bulbs. Susquehanna Motorsports is a good source. Rally Lights, Hella, TerraTrip, Hans, WRC, ZAMP. All the lighting you will ever need. I have ordered from them for many years. Hope this helps. Stay safe KG

    Ford 6.0 Diesel

My experience with the 6.0 ford is quite different. I accumulated 200,000 miles on a van with very little problems at all. Lack of shielding caused the upper radiator hose to leak at about 5000 miles. But other than that, just regular maintenance with Mobil 1 oil. Stay safe KG

Question for van owners who use generators.

I am getting ready to install a rooftop air conditioner in a new van. I'am not really a fan of bumper mounted generators in or out of boxes. My question is for those who put the generators on the ground and chain the units to the van. Do you experience much vandalism or theft attempts when...
