Ok it’s that time again. Which van to buy?

Wow. That surprises me. A Dodge is a Dodge, right? They must have their hands full with other repairs on different models.

why buy a sprinter van, this is my 2 cents

I do wish the Nissan was at least 12 foot long in the cargo area. I hardly hear of anyone having issues with those.

why buy a sprinter van, this is my 2 cents

I love everything about the Sprinter except the cost, the cost of ownership, maintenance, and repairs. The body size, ride, inside comfort, quietness, HVAC are second to none. They are a great looking van, the best looking, actually. Being a Ford person, I am greatly disappointed in...

    Isuzu NPR

I dont think many expeditors are going to have, or be familiar with a Zoom-Zoom. ( at least that's what I called my NQR when I had it. Loved that little underpowered truck. Excellent for local deliveries. An excellent truck overall.

    Scan tools

I absolutely love my Foxwell brand scanner and separate battery/alternator/starter tester. Around 120 bucks each, and well worth it. Excellent customer reviews.

Maybe the Iowa 80 antique truck display building people would have an idea.

    Cabover Pre/Post trip inspection?

I'm almost 95% sure that is or was Don Costellos old truck that he set up before he got called out of retirement by the government because of Desert Storm. He had it finished while he was overseas, but never drove it, as he decided to sell it before he got home. His wife ran it once a month to...

How many miles do the Ford Transit Engines last?

POWERSTROKEHELP.COM - The Information Source for Ford Power Stroke Diesel Owners & Mechanics Bill Hewlett knows the Ford/International engines better than the people who built them. He does things right. Click on the 7.3 in the left column and you'll be there all day. Hes the man.

    Changing Bulb on Promaster

Exactly, Dan. I lift 2 metal tabs with my fingers and the whole headlight assembly pulls out. Unplug the headlight. Unscrew the black plastic headlight ring and the headlight comes out. Less than 5 minutes. No tools required. I love my Ford. Built like a tank. Tried, true, ultra dependable.

Spec'ing a Straight Truck for MPG

I had a Sterling class 8 stretched with a 22 ft box on it. C15 6nz Caterpillar, 44 locking rears, 18k front axle, 400 gallon fuel capacity, 3 stage, 18 gauges, dual stacks, it was the wrong truck to make into a 10 wheeler. 28,500# empty. But, oh, how fun it was to drive. It would pass...

Who besides ThermoKing installs cab heaters?

They are actually pretty easy to install. The worst part of the install is dropping the tank if you do not have a Ford or a Dodge. My freind and I installed mine in the driveway while it was 7 degrees out 7 years ago.

Am I killing my diesel sprinter by letting it idle?

Exactly what I was thinking....lol...2011. A new thread and a link to this Chinese heater would be a good thing, an alternative to an overpriced Espar and its parts.

    Truck shopping !

He set up one of Caffes trucks. They'd know if he is still around. Good knowledgeable salesmen are hard to come by. Like the guy at Scaffidi Ford in Steven's Point, Si. John knows his poop. Real straightforward and honest.

    Truck shopping !

Radiator was obviously smaller for the Cummins ISC engine. Axles, frame, crossmembers, suspension and cab the same as a T-600 or 800. No doghouse protruding into the cab. You dont remember the HDX Kenworth that Jeff Jones set up at Palmer trucks in Fort Wayne? The HDX stood for Heavy Duty...

Yes, the T300 was a class 7, but with class 8 components except the engine, trans, and rears.

    Fuel Stats 2015 Transit

I was a bit concerned going from a 7.3 diesel van to my 5.4 van. I'm so glad that I did. So much cheaper for parts, oil changes, no fuel additives needed in the winter, no need to plug it in, just so much better all around. Sure, fuel mileage is less, but so is the cost of gasoline. Today's gas...
