    Generators Inverter or generator

Yes, you are correct, running a generator for a few hours to run just the lighter load objects is....But for periods longer than that, I think not...I would rather wear a generator out than the van engine, regardless how long the periods are of running either. That's what I bought the generator...

    Generators Inverter or generator

How difficult is it to take a cover off of a generator, and turn a key to start it? You make it sound so hard. With my generator, I can plug into shore power as well, either 110 or 30 amp service.

    Generators Inverter or generator

Why not just get a generator big enough to run what you need it to run? The problem with having a battery bank is that, eventually you still have to run the van to charge them back up, so really, where is the advantage? Weight? A Honda EU3000 generator is like 160#....An Oddysey battery is...

Generators Anyone using a portable power unit?

I didn't realize that. My mistake. So, it would be a win-win situation for the van owner to invest in one.A warm and cozy driver is a happy driver! And driver retention would make a happy and profitable fleet owner!

Generators Anyone using a portable power unit?

For cying out load, if you can afford it, just get an Espar and be done with it-No propane bottles to fill, no worries about the oxygen getting sucked out of the air-An Espar may be expensive at first, but you'll be glad you got one. If you get one, get he bigger Espar, you'll be glad you did...
