http://www.expeditersonline.com/forum/truck-talk/39798-solar-panels.html#post342963 The link goes to the weight of my components. I've since added a third panel. Wiring and hardware for the third panel adds up to maybe three pounds. A little on the van. Another write up. A little more on the...

Sprinter (and other diesel) turbo maintenance.

When my turbo (sprinter) failed it was the control module that went. Since the controller is part of the turbo maybe that is part of the fail safe. Controller dies before catastrophic mechanical failure. Hopefully. eb

    Truck Refrigerators

I went the 12 volt engel route, because direct to 12 volts without an inverter is lighter and requires less power. At the setting I use, it consumes about 1 amp for one minute every six minutes. eb

    Roof Heights

Duwayne, Follow the link to a few articles on getting started in a cargo van. If you are really set on driving a van, I'd say to stick with a regular local job until you have the CASH to get into a used van. A loan on a sprinter van is a very, very deep hole that most people don't get out of...

    Roof Heights

tall enough that i can put my clothes on while standing up. thats the 72 inch tall door. i didnt go with extra long, because long was long enough for three pallets, a few extra inches buffer and 19 inches of bunk space. without the extra long i get an extra 115 lbs for weight capacity...

    Your Sprinter Sleeper

when you are having one of those stinking, bad streaks that one three skidder can turn a losing week into a winner. ive had a couple months that were so bad that a single three skid load would have doubled my income for the month. if three skids is not possible in your vehicle, forget about it...

    Van insulation

Masonite. Handy stuff. I always have an extra sheet of the stuff stored somewhere. I think it is heavier than luan though. Next time I want a finished job, I'm going to order the thin, corrugated plastic sheets from an online sign shop and insulate behind it. eb

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

When trucks are replaced by robot road trains, there will still be vans driven by human drivers for the odd jobs. They might not be American drivers, but they will be humans. eb

Sprinter lower ball joints assistance ...

that's a better write up. after the fact piper and i decided that there was a chance i didn't even need to replace my ball joints at the time. I'm over 400,000 miles on my second set. the ncv3 does wear well. it seems that things get out of whack when unnecessary work is done. eb

Sprinter lower ball joints assistance ...

there is nothing wrong with the control arm. there might be nothing wrong with the ball joint either. it isnt checked like the typical american machine. i think piper one talks about it in turtle's link. eb

    Sprinter year

2006. less finicky on fuel. greater weight capacity. easier access to stuff under the hood. newer models have more room for cargo and people space. more things to go wrong. 2018 model will be made exclusively in germany. the vehicle will automatically route itself to the nearest dealership (500...

    Dust Dust Dust

i started carrying a vacuum cleaner in the van. much of the light fluffy stuff stays in the vehicle when using just a hand broom. the vacuum is rated for toner cartridge powder, so what goes in stays in. i still sweep the sand and wood chips out and save the vacuum for the light stuff. a...
