Should be a primer pump on side of engine. Driver side. Make sure filters are full prior to installing them.

That is true. It is imperative to know what both records indicate and what is obtainable with a google search. They ask for 10 years but cant ask for items beyond 7. That changed a couple of years ago I believe although they will not tell you that. Lack of verifiable experience will kill you at...

All good advice. I would obtain your own background information and see what it shows. Be honest with companies as they will check. But. all will have different standards that they will look at.

Best way to find reliable fleet owners.

I would agree. Reputation along with current and past references. You have to do your due diligence if you are going to enter into a partnership whether expediting or any other venture. Take your time. There are some good fleet owners out there and definitely some sharks.

    Occupational accident insurance

If a independent contractor it is basically a pass through with the carrier you are leased. Coverage and amounts will depend on carrier on their policy. If a employee, it is more driven by state law. Those requirements and the type of coverage will vary from state to state. Basically your...

    Is it possible?

Undercapitalization is one of the primary reasons people fail at any business. The odds are not in your favor based on your information. As mentioned, take your time and save your money. Even running for a fleet owner will require a reserve of money for the slow times or a bad week or two.

    Headed to Panther!!!!

Very true. And then like in this case, they wonder why fleet owners won't cover the cost for them to go to orientation. Had one at one time wanted a rental car, five star hotel and $200 a day for food. Can't blame someone for trying but it was laughable. Then I laughed harder when he said he had...

    Headed to Panther!!!!

Indeed you should have the contract prior to departure so everyone is on the same page. I don't complicate the simple. I don't do a sales job on someone and have no incentive to "sweeten the pot". Everyone here comes by word of mouth for the most part. In fact, my current & previous drivers talk...

    Headed to Panther!!!!

I don't think they would provide a reason not to call someone. Kind of a waste of time I would think. They just wouldn't call unless they have to.

Landstar is a good outfit. But with that said, if they were a lot better, everyone would be there. Have to look at the whole picture and not just part of it.

    Headed to Panther!!!!

No idea on vans, but straights go to CT pretty frequently. Many fleet owners don't cover orientation because if a prospective driver fails a drug screen or physical, they are out those costs. For me personally, I look for who has the ability to be a business partner. If they can't afford to get...
