    Desperate!

Duwayne, you'll need to be more specific: what kind of help, exactly, do you need [that members could provide]?

What Cargo Van Companies doesn't have restrictions on van year.

Dude, you're looking for 'love' in all the wrong places, lol. Expedite is where failure is not an option, and a van that old is a failure waiting to happen. Maybe you could do something like delivering phone books, where it doesn't matter if you get there or not. Just saying.

    Recruiters please answer this question

Dude - you're shooting the messenger when you don't like the message. No one who replied is a recruiter [including Turtle], but the fact is your driving record is going to disqualify you from insurance coverage with any reputable carrier. And their insurance matters, even if you get your own...

    Recruiters please answer this question

The ones that don't advertise on EO. You'll see their vans around, with a name you never heard of, and if you can catch the driver, they can tell you about them. As Turtle mentioned, CSA is making carriers much more careful about the drivers' records, so you're in a tough spot as far as driving...

Driving solo straight truck for fleet owner

I know I never want to drive t/t again, but we're all different. If you are looking for any particular info, just ask - we'll try to steer you in the right direction. Or we'll [inadvertently] talk you right out of it, lol. ;)

Driving solo straight truck for fleet owner

If that's the only thing you're worried about, sure - there's quite a few of us out here doing just that. I don't know if we'll be able to continue if EOBRs become mandatory, because the problems of hours sitting at a dock and lack of parking [not such a big deal for s/ts as for t/ts] are being...

"Stink thinkin", but it got me to wondering

Hazmat: not all carriers require it. I dropped the cert last time, as I don't choose to haul it any longer. The insulin rule though, isn't up to the carrier, it's a DOT requirement. One can obtain a waiver if on insulin, but I hear the the process is difficult. Worth pursuing further, certainly.

    Recruiting Manager at LRT Expedite

Wolverine: I doubt the 'family' claim is meant to be taken literally, like 'you can sleep in the guest room, borrow a few bucks if you're short, drop in for dinner unannounced, whatever', it's more an assurance that you aren't just another truck among hundreds, known only as a number to...

    Recruiting Manager at LRT Expedite

A statement that "We're making changes in how drivers are treated" should be a huge red flag, IMO. There shouldn't be any reason to change it, if it was professional to begin with.

Owners that hire solo ST drivers

When you finish the enforced team time, we should do a thread on 'Horrors: worst codrivers ever!' I have a few nominations, too, but we better wait until they can't 'accidentally' leave you at a WalMart somewhere, lol. ;)

Owners that hire solo ST drivers

The push for team drivers has been intensified by two things: loss of the split sleeper provision, and detention. Combined, those factors can put solos in the position of choosing which method of economic suicide they prefer: the certainty of informing dispatch that direct delivery is...

Looking for company that allows dogs

Didn't do anything you should thank me for - just told the truth. Which is that some people can manage some things better than others - I couldn't handle 3 dogs in a van, myself, lol, but you did a great job. Welcome to EO, BTW. Where we look out for each other, and the animals, too. :)

    Panther truth

Chris: only the person who did it can answer the last question, but I can answer the first. It's best to call Panther and get the official response. Asking a bunch of drivers is guaranteed to get a bunch of answers, and how do you know which [if any] is correct?

Ohio State Police withholding Michigan CDL.

To me it seems inconceivable that one could lose their license for one accident, especially when one is rearended - there are drivers convicted of multiple DUIs who don't lose their license! How on earth did that happen over what sounds pretty minor? I mean, you didn't leave any details out...

Looking for company that allows dogs

3 German Shepherds - known for shedding massive amounts, no less. I'd have reported her in a heartbeat, if the dogs looked uncared for - but they didn't. There were food and water bowls out, no sign of slovenliness, no smell of offensive anything, and the dogs looked healthy and happy. She...

Looking for company that allows dogs

And Panther. When I saw a youngish woman sitting in the open back of her van at the Seville Pilot, with 3 big dogs, I had to stop and chat, lol. She said it gets crowded at times, but it works for her. Jenny is right, so you want to make sure your carrier is aware of the dog, and doesn't...

    Expediter Services

But he IS the one who has been here for years, helping, and we've learned that he can be trusted. You, I'm not so sure of - why are you trying so hard to sell it? PS Reading this forum has nothing to do with being satisfied [or not] - some of us like to get information from wherever it can be...
