    Loyalty or stupidity?

Wesay, look out for your own best interest. Either the job pays or it doesn't.

    need to work

The costs associated with crime are quite high to everyone involved, including the perp, the victims and society at large. Incarceration isn't cheap. Lives are often ruined, families destroyed and once promising futures are altered. Individuals who harm others through crime place an enormous...

Running East Coast to West Coast?

For the past 11 years I have used only Shell Rotella in my Ford diesels. Change the oil faithfully every 10,000 miles. No problems to report.

    down time

For the past 16 months, I have been getting load offers almost every weekday. Most weekends as well. Very busy times in expediting. If I want or need downtime, I place myself OOS.

    anyone know

Banning the Sprinter would not effect my operations at all. All my freight is 1-3 skids of standard size. I cannot be convinced Sprinters are reasonably priced for expediting applications. Just an opinion.

    anyone know

Dakota, I am cheap! My $4500 van grossed $39K in the first 6 months of this year. That's a decent ROI. Why would I buy a $40,000 van to do this work?

Just stating the obvious: aren't all Sprinters overpriced?

    Starting a New Expediting Business

Here's a question: would you rather make $80000 in a cargo van as an owner-operator or make $160000 in a tractor?

    Unloading and loading a van

I made the mistake years ago of vacationing in Florida during, what was unbeknownst to me, Gay Bikers Week. Oh, the trauma. Does this explain why a compass points north?

    Unloading and loading a van

Alas, too many thwappings for me. Today, I wait at home while my van receives a new torque converter, output bearing and bushings. Having owned and operated many Ford E350's, this is the first transmission problem I have encountered. Rather expensive.

    Companies that run distances

No problem, LOS. I know you value safety just as much as myself or any other driver. Just snagged a load, Louisville to Laredo. Gotta go.

    Companies that run distances

LOS... I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt. But, I must ask, were you in a clear state of mind when you typed this nonsense? Do me a favor as well, maintain the best possible physical condition for yourself. CSA 2010 is going to tighten up the rules for drivers. Many an old...

    Companies that run distances

For the benefit of the spouter/off types, let me recount my recent run to California. It picked up in Delaware, Ohio on a Friday afternoon, around 4pm. This load was scheduled for delivery in Calexico on Monday at 11am EST. After picking up the load, I cut through central KY to swing by...

    Companies that run distances

It's 2000 expedited loads safely delivered, but who's counting. *L* A suicidal deer ran into my personal car in 1988. If that qualifies as an accident , then that's one. There was no damage to the car. Just a quick trip to the carwash to rinse off fur and assorted animal matter. BTW, I...
