    Our Time is Now

Should’ve went with an attorney to get it reduced or changed to another non moving charge, then the speeding ticket wouldn’t go on your record. That’s what attorneys are for. JMHO.

    New MC, need loads

Bad time to start. Rates are in the toilet at this time and probably into the foreseeable future. Rates to get out of Texas at this time are in the .60 range and lower. Hope this helps.

    Weighing my options

Probably not enough to support a family with kids. Maybe 500-700/wk before taxes. Remember you will get a 1099 from the o/o for your wages. Then you pay about 30% for taxes leaving you a minimal paycheck. JMHO.

    Weighing my options

My opinion is that Load One has way too many local drivers in my area (SE MI). Usually when I go home with a load there are about 25-30 Sprinters hanging around for that short stuff because you have many retired drivers hogging up all of the short freight. JMHO.

    Weighing my options

I think a local gig will work best for the conditions you laid out.

    Virus

As more and more businesses shut their doors, the freight is getting harder to come by. I did 2 loads last week totaling 728 miles.

Thinking of getting into the business

BS. The rates are way down. Barely enough to just get by. Yes the money may be there but one must remember that for every dollar one generates about half goes to operating your business and living on the road. Also there is waiting for thar next load. Sometimes you may get one that day you...

    Fedex cc vs. Panther

Just had a conversation the other day with a buddy of mine who is a “Million Miler and is still on with LEAM ( I left LEAM 8 1/2 yrs ago because I saw the writing on the wall) and he told me that there are very few loads going on regular super b trucks while the majority of the loads are AA&E...

    No experience needed????

Probably should have kept your CDL. Nothing like spending that money and time to get it again. Once you get it and keep it for as long as you need to. It never goes to waste.

    No experience needed????

Plus the Sprinter and cargo van market are over saturated.

    Best truck stops

Best to one may be a stinker to somebody else. My best advice is to try each one out and decide for oneself.

    Best truck stops

Truck stops are not like they used to be. Flying J and Pilots mainly have fast food restaurants with a few of the older J’s having Denny’s. Loves have mainly fast food. Now most T/A and Petro truck stops have sit down restaurants. Hope this helps.

    Married couple and a child?

For insurance purposes most expedite carriers if not all of them will not let a child ride along.

    nubtime question wall

In order to get your DOT number you will have to provide proof of commercial ins. which is pretty pricey (depends on your driving record and age of vehicle but will be around 6-10k a yr. plus cargo ins.). I would drive for a fleet owner first just to see if its for you. This job is totally...
