    Dash cams

I'm sure you could do it with a little research... kinda like home security. Dash cam is fine... but what are you going to do when you meet up with a cop who, opposite of what we were taught, is not your friend? His word against your word ends up being gold, when your word has video and voice...

    Dash cams

I'd look into a dash cam pointing out, one pointing in, another cam above the passenger's door pointing at you, and one above you pointing at the passenger's door. Have it all available at the touch of a button, and streamed back to a recorder via internet. But that's just me. ;)

    How Well Do Playstations Survive?

We've had no problems with PS2, other than they're refurbished, and eventually quit working. My nephew brought his xbox with us a couple years back. He had problems playing while the truck was moving. A good bounce would ruin a disc.

I got what update it had on the computer.

    Rand-McNally Intelliroute TND 500

Just picked it up. So far, it tried to send me a non-common sensical way thru to a point in NJ. I'll have to adjust the settings for the next trip. I do like the feature that pulls up the closest truck stop, walmart, game stop, etc. Watch out... saw it for $500 at Love's.

    XM pain in the arse

I agree. Sounds like the installer didn't know his... you know. Got mine installed at Best Buy and ABC Warehouse (two separate units). Both installs were good. They've done semi installations regularly.

    Sirius radios

Not trying to toot my horn here; but for a couple hundred, you could get an installed stereo that's Sirius or XM ready. I prefer the Kenwoods, myself. Will never have a truck without one.

    PDA/Smartphone

MotoQ was on backorder, so I went with the Treo755 instead. Then, after cancelling the MotoQ, it came in the mail anyways. LOL Glad Mom needs a new phone too.

    PDA/Smartphone

I decided to go with the MotoQ. It's an older model, but I figured that I didn't need huge amounts of extras. Checking email and customer contacts are pretty much the extent.

In Truck Faxing Software for Windows VISTA

Looking at myfax, myself. I like the idea of 200 incoming for $10.

    Future technology

The way things are going, in 35 years, we'll be riding horses, pulling carts, lighting our houses with pitch covered torches, and cooking over a fire pit (which will be black market, since it will be against the law to cut down trees). The only modern technology will be used by the World...

    Windows Vista

And here I am thinking the USB port is a cool idea for a card. I feel like I'm back in the Stone Age! Anyone got any mango salsa? :D

    Windows Vista

Thanx for the info. I did try that when I had probs loading that game. In fact, that might've been the problem itself. Glad goback was there, or I would've had to start everything over from scratch. Not blaming Vista, as there are only a handful of games known not to work on it. And I didn't get...

    Windows Vista

When I got my new laptop, it came with Vista. I would've rather had XP at the time, after hearing about the nightmares. But I have to say I'm very pleased with it. No crashes so far during normal operations. Goback took care of a problem I had installing a game. No shutdowns due to overheating...

    PDA/Smartphone

Does anyone use one of these on the road? How do you like it? How easy is dialing while driving? I'm looking at the Palm Treo or Blackberry under Sprint. Just wondering if it's worth the hype.

installing a cd player in my truck

Whenever I buy a radio for my truck, I get it at Best Buy or ABC Warehouse, because they have free installation labor if you spend over $99.

    XM radio - now what?

Excitement is driving down the road listening to the Hawks kick arse! And yelling TOUCHDOWN on the cb when they score. LOL Oh... this is an XM thread. You guys don't get that excitement. :7 -Vampire Super Slooth Trucker!!!

    Satellite radio

The magnet antenna that comes with the tuner should work fine on a metal truck with a flat top cab. If you have a high-rise cab, or a fiberglass truck, you should get an antenna. Beast Buy doesn't carry them, but most truckstops and cb shops do. Expect around $70 for one. -Vampire Super Slooth...
