    I want a Job, but Need Help/Advice

In the six years we’ve been doing expediting we’ve seen a handful of solo positions. In which half ended badly. My best advice would be to keep checking the classified section on EO. Maybe even posting you own add for fleet owners to find you. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

Have not used it much. Can’t say for sure. We are looking into getting some auto socks for trucks. If they are in your budget may not be bad to have. Really easy to put on and work great from what I’ve heard. TheCraftyTrucker

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

Each year we’ve been out we’ve really only had to shut it down about once maybe twice per winter season. Keep track of the weather during winter and try not to accept loads going into storms or if you do take that load negotiate ALOT more money to deal with it. I remember our first year we...

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

Thank you! Thats what we do at least. Having a temp reader in your truck can be really helpful. If your truck does not have one you can pick up one of those inside outside temp readers from Home Depot or Lowes really cheap. Melt off can be just as dangerous as rain. Roads and bridges that...

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

Our biggest tip would be watch the temperatures and watch the roads. If it snows one night then the sun comes out and melts a lot of snow, then it starts to freeze again, chances are the roads will ice up. If it’s raining all day and it starts to get dark temperatures will fall below freezing...

    Sunglasses

Maui Jim’s. Mainly any glasses with polarizer will help with glare. Since I wear glasses for a full driving shift comfort is most important for me. So typically I’ll spend top dollar for quality glasses, night and day ones Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    Cargo Van Can't wait

Do what’s best for your business. Don’t let them bully you into doing loads. Take loads that make sense to your business. Be friendly but know, they are not your friend. Network with other panthers drivers to learn their good areas. Don’t be afraid to turn bad loads down. Sent from my iPhone...

    Newbie to Expediting

It really depends on your wants and needs. I’m sure there are people who would talk bad and good things about them. They’ve been in business awhile. They won’t be perfect. Just depends on what you can put up with. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    What would you do?

I’d go V3 but I am bias and have a bad taste from panther. Both will get you experience to eventually move on to bigger and better things. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

Thinking About Going Back On The Road

It’s possible but not guaranteed. Sometimes you’ll make more, sometimes less. All depends on time of year freight and how often you go home. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    Is this even feasibe?

We have talked to many other couples who have found smaller companies that allowed this. Have not heard of any of the bigger carriers doing this though Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

I’ve played around with the KeepTruckin app. It’s really nice. They sell a device that plugs in truck and communicate with phone app via Bluetooth Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    Question about Van refrigeration

Sorry read that part wrong. Sprinters are still some thing to be concerned with IMO. I wonder if the roof top would get cold enough? What’s the required temp? Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    the great ? which truck

Hinos are ok. Older trucks I would look for something with the cummins 8.3 with a Allison trans before 2007. (My favorite Diesel) preferably a kenworth t300 or peterbilt 330. Easy to get parts and work done and are rock solid platforms. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    Question about Van refrigeration

Should probably have more concern with the van. Sprinters have proven to be some what problematic with emissions issues. For local type deliveries you want to look at a gasser like the ford transit. Sorry no tips for the refer part Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums
