Oh no! He drives a van! Lol You'll fit in well here. The lower class citizens (straight truck drivers) will try to beat ya down a little, but we all know the real story :D

New Hot Shot on the Block

Hello Adam and welcome to ExpeditersOnline! If your looking for info on dually/gooseneck combination work, your not going to find much here. There are some good forums dedicated to traditional "hotshot" work. Contact "Brisco" on here...or hopefully he will see your thread and reply. He can...

    Ready To Go

I don't know this for sure, but I think you'll find a lot more hot shot work in Houston than expedite. Lots of oil/gas field supplies moving about down there. Just a pickup can even get some business.

I think the camp cots are rated for like 250-300 lbs...you just have to check the specs on the one you want. The pragma is unreal..like 1200 or 1600 or something.

Ok, thats what I thought you were meaning. I have no experience with the air mattresses, but have considered trying one. Sounds like you'll have to have a barrier...either a rug of some kind or something insulated on the floor, under the mattress. Or your going to need something to get the...

I'm curious about what you mean by "the cold comes up through the floor". Are you saying that it effects the mattress? Or just talking about the fact of cold coming through the floor. Maybe we need to invent an air heater for the air beds? :)

Hello 1st time poster from Cali

Solo drivers do fine in expedite...east of the mississippi. There is expedite freight on the west coast for someone who wants to stay out there. Whether there is enough to keep you as busy as you would like is the question. Others could answer that better than I can. It will depend a lot on...

    New kid on the block

Some of the other guys might comment different, but 1500 seems pretty light duty? I dont think uou need the authority or mc # on a van even if you went out on your own. Xiggi gave good advice except for the prostate part. :) I think he meant Tristate or Bolt. Not a lot of carriers looking for...

    Hello from central TN

Its a matter of what your looking for. A husband/wife team has options available to them in this industry...in a straight truck...that could likely double any income they will ever find in any kind of van....imo

    An Old Noob

In some ways, the straight truck is actually easier to get into than a Sprinter. It will cost more, but most any carrier will sign it on as opposed to most of the better carriers have a waiting list for Sprinters. A few more specifics would help to get you some better answers. 1. Are you...

    just saying Hi.

Hello. Are you leased to LoadOne? If so, contact "Dreamer" and have him give you access to the LoadOne forum. We can talk amongst ourselves in there. What is really neat is that we can talk bad about these other guys and they cant respond :D

    Time for a change

How long is a while? Do you or have you ever owned a truck? Driving for a fleet owner is a good way to learn the business and find out whether you like it before investing in a truck. I knew I wanted to own my truck and could afford it, so that is how I started. Everybody's situation is...

    Big Thanks to EO Community

The link above is apparently for a bluetooth style, but I was positive that Jack told me his were actually wired to his hearing aids. I just know that they seemed to work very well. He was very happy with it. It was nice to see him carry on a phone conversation that was as normal as could...
