    Info needed

Don is right. No one. And I mean NO ONE should get into this without talking to 10 drivers that run for at least 5 different carriers that operate at least 3 different ways. You cannot get into this without most or all of your questions answered. And remember, "their lips are moving!!"...

    Who Determines The Payable Miles?

Most dispatch software uses either PC Miler or Google Maps to calculate miles. If PCM, the option or "shortest" or "practical" is usually there.

    HELP expedite

So a FREE DH of 100 miles and 300 LDD mile run is acceptable? Or is it 100:400? I wasn't a math major. Management major, rather. LOL!! (Figures, right?) That's one part of all the base rate adjustments I'd have trouble with. Many probably understand why their linehaul rate per mile has been...

    Cut out the Middle Man

Correct. The more layers you add in there the more it gets chipped away at.

    Cut out the Middle Man

Right? Those aren't "to the truck" rates. Just know there IS profit to the carrier in there. And those are optimistic rates. Take those and THEN negotiate.

    Cut out the Middle Man

If you're charging true customer rates something like...... $1.65 for vans. $1.95 for loads requiring Sprinters. $2.25 for smalls. $2.75 for larges. $3.00 for small semis. $3.50 for full semis. NOW, you will have to adjust ALL of these based on what they will actually PAY for. But start...

    Sylectus

The LS offices seem to approve and pay at different rates. We have not experienced them as being fast payers. And we don't go for the "keep a little more of our money to pay us faster" method. Not saying you are. Just that we are not.

    Sylectus

Yes, we either run directly for all of those (9 of the listed) and indirectly for the other 2.

    Sylectus

I don't doubt it. My limited knowledge of Sylectus requirements was right at the end of Stu's reign. I'm sure just about everything at Sylectus has changed. Yes, I read EVERY email notifying members of new carriers brought on board. I won't elaborate. But I read them all. I don't go to...

    Sylectus

Haven't seen the current requirements but last I heard it was a 10 truck minimum. They charge a flat fee plus a per-unit charge. There are still plenty of carriers on Sylectus with fewer than 10 units but they qualified back when the minimum was either 5 or 1, depending on how many years...

I just mean you may run into a different set of broker out there. That's all. If it's a new to you broker, include it.

    Sylectus

If you're in Phoenix or Tucson, give it two days, then move to ELP. Then get ready. Every bid you make MUST include you're INS, MC & W-9. Some of the brokers that post out there are different than the regular "freight junkies". They don't know you. Be nice. Be polite. Don't beg. It's doesn't do...

oh no 1st time to New York City!!

Doesn't matter if you drive in at 03:00-04:00. Just you and the cabs. If you aren't due until morning, wait. Sooooo much easier overnight. Delivered on Water St a while back. Drive in at 03:30 at 35-40 MPH. All the way down. Then grabbed a sammy at a 24 hour deli. Napped and woke up right on...

    EZ PASS??

Yes. Do it. Saved me a bunch when I was on the road. It's not like it's a risky investment. Stick it on your windshield and when you hit areas it's accepted, start saving.

    Awesome Expediting??

They pay their brokered loads quick, according to Sally. That's awesome in our book.

Any reviews for A-Plus expediting ?

It is what is is. It's not like anyone really hinges a lot on a positive post or two on here. Not worth your time? I hope not. I'd hope you have MUCH better things to do with your time than to prove a positive post about a carrier was an "inside job". Life is WAY TOO SHORT!!!
