    Van insulation

I used fiberglass batts thst are enclosed in plastic since most foams are produce toxic gas if heated. A short in a wire might be enough to make you ill, I also have alergies. That was housed behind particle board, I would suggest the plastic bathroom wall board since it would be easier to...

2006 ford e250 spark plugs pain in the rear

Well the good thing about the maintainence is that at least I know my piston rings are ok and got a good look at the engine. Truck is in great shape for over 106000.

2006 ford e250 spark plugs pain in the rear

Vans are great, no digging around in those totes as with the nissan. I hated getting rid of those shelves and drawers for tools. At least now I can haul cargo and can take the dogs camping. They love the truck also.

    What your set up?

The duct tape was outside of the 10-3 wire sheath and it was vinal duct tape. Generator may be the best, but there are many old posts about what people like to use. I think everyone has thier preference. Happy hauling!

    What your set up?

What I did was follow Xiggie's advice and insulate the van. Since things didnt turn out the way that I planned, I only ran 3 wires for future use and mounted a 4x4 metal box to hold the cigarette lighter sockets. My wiring plan is to feed from the future aux. Battery using #10 thnn stranded...

    ac nightmare in sprinter van

Sounds to me that the clutch on the ac could have a fault in it condenser fan if it had one, or some trash clogging the expansion valve. Did they put a dryer or did it have one already installed on the system? Just for gigles, when you get warm air, see if your evaporator is freezing up.

Thanks, may have to take you up on that later. Truck is ok for now, but still needs some things done to it once I decide on the best way to do them and have cash. 1. Need to decide between duel batteries and/or generator. 2. Still debating refrigration, will go with ice for time being...

Thank, like many things cut up, normally over twice the cost of cutting it yourself. Kind of worried about propane, crazy driver hits you....boom! If it leaks inside the truck, you may not wake up due to lack of fresh air. Most foams are toxic when it smokes from a shorted wire or flame, just...

Got those darn bins out, what a pain in the rear, gonna put yhe plywood down over the rubber floor covering. I saw at home depot a 2 inch thick foam sheathing that goes on the out side of the house, but dont know if its toxic yet. Will wait on the insulation cause I'm not sure how I want to do...

Got a 2006 Ford E250 cargo van today! Got to get rid of the cargo bins and customize it. Questions: 1. What is the easiest and cheapest way to keep warm and cool? 2. Would a car battery last all night running one of those ceramic heaters and a small portable A/c unit? 3. What size...

    CB reception in 2014 Cascadia

Something weird is interfering with the signal. Does this problem happen everywhere you go? Could something like buildings, distance or mountian be weakening the signal? Go to a truck stop or highway with many truck to get a clear radio check? On your Technicians bench did it work...

Ok, I've got two clients that will keep me busy, what is the most economical truck deal and setting it up to live in on the road? New vs used, what is the maximum mileage to choose from. Dont want to invest in a truck that in three years still owe on when its shot. Since the truck is...

    truck size question

Gut feelings are an alarm bell. *"He got the feeling that something was really wrong." Is what you said. Always go with your gut feeling. Anyhow, why buy something new if you have to modify it?

    Tired of being ignored

Another cool, but wacky thing, would be to have a plasma screen on the back of the truck showing their car rear ending the back of the truck using the bumper cam. The strobe light for tailgaters and people that follow with high beams on would be funny also. I know, "That Boy ain't right,"...
