Best way to find reliable fleet owners.

We have been in this business 16 years and we like to think we are great fleet owners ( only 4 turnovers in 4 years for 6 trucks, two of those were medical reasons for the drivers ). We dont take trucks to drivers. Drivers come to the truck, that means they truly want a job if they get there...

What's the best way for team drivers to split the work

My wife and I teamed for 15 years and always stayed on a normal schedule. I did days and she did nights. We switched at midnight and very rarely had any issues. Staying on a schedule makes it much easier.

First problem is that you are not going to be able to pay your drivers 1000 $ a week nor will they make a 1000 $ a week on a split. By salary, do you mean they will be employees or contractors. More info needed,

Questions About Driving For An Owner

1: Both, EO classifieds or carriers will have a list of fleet owner with openings. Usually, unless you are close or willing to travel to the interview, it is done over the phone. 2: Some will and some wont. Personally we have no issues in giving out references. Shoot, you can google us...

Any money in straight trucking alone?

As you know we have our fleet with Load 1 and our solos do pretty well. Our drivers are satisfied. They could do better but we all could do better in a perfect world. As far as an { all in rate }, I can only tell you an all miles rate average cause we figure our rate with all loaded and all dead...

    Cargo Van Best Company

Not always, there are drawbacks to that. Like when you get someone who feels they have the rite to put alot of unpaid miles on the truck just because they are paying the fuel and not considering the added maintenance or wear and tear on the truck. Every mile requires something towards...

    Cargo Van Best Company

Not all Fleet owners do a 60/40 {first number to the driver} some do a 40/60. Also many are adopting the 50/50. Some just pay per mile. There are all kinds but the first three are most common and mirror each other in income. We are fleet owners with Load 1. Mssg me and we can talk. We have an...

Guess we could have but with the info given and a little simple math you get to the answer. We rarely get that question posed that way to us by perspective drivers, its most always, what is the average weekly income.

    Load 1 newbie straight truck

this is expediting, you cant put one figure on weekly income, it is always a range in average over the weeks worked in a year. a year for our fleet is 4 weeks on and 1 whole week off !!!

    Load 1 newbie straight truck

We are fleet owners at load one also. While putting a number on things is hard to do, we generally see that our solo driver are averaging a range of 5/6 to 800 a week depending. That number can go up or down but when you average all the weeks that is about where it falls.

    new guy on the block.

Its really not negative blah, blah, blah. Rather more of the fact that we have all seen many people fail in this business due to the mentality of " just go buy a van and start expediting ". While it is the easiest way to get into the business it is also the most over populated segment of the...

Anyone have information on Tempus Transport??

Chances of any of their former drivers being on EO is limited even though EO reaches a large pool. Your best source is to have them give you contacts of past and current drivers. Focus on both segments but they should have past drivers that left under good terms that would give you good...
