    Caterpillar C7/C9 Post HEUI Filter

I know I'm running a dinosaur and do not expect much response here, but some might find this interesting. I discovered on an RV thread where someone has come up with a post HEUI pump filter system that will save your injectors from shrapnel and having to clean out the oil galley; Injection...

    T-boned, now what?

I'm still shook-up over this. Sunday nite our precious str8 truck was t-boned by a four wheeler who ran a stop sign at a goodly speed after exiting I-74 in Greensburg, IN right in front of the Petro. The driver was alone and thankfully was not hurt. My wife was in the bunk and didn't fair as...

DPF and CARB, mine ST8's time has come.

Not looking for the "should we or not", but rather, looking for DPF experiences, good or bad. Hoping to gain pros and cons on retrofitting current truck (C9 M2) or go with a new/used ST8 built with DPF from the factory. Any opinions on most reliable motor/trans combinations appreciated. Anybody?

    Honda EU2000 Recall Fuel Tube

My genny was included and did the recall myself. The fuel tube can be reached under the front panel (outlet end). Reach in and release three small white wire harness plugs and this allows you to reach the tube. Mine had the hose clamp poking a nice little hole in the adjacent tube after...

Has carb sniffed your tail pipe yet?

I appreciate the thread on reefers and CARB, now let's talk truck motors. I heard on Landlinenow that CARB is declaring August as Green month with the inspections set up at scales to "educate truckers", read....check emissions compliance by running a sniff test etc. (and, oh, btw, CA DOT will...

    Cat Coolant in Fuel

Problem is a small amount of red coolant showing up in my fuel water separator for the past 50,000 mi.s....probably an oz. of coolant every 2000 mi.s. The coolant recovery tank finally showed up today with one drop of fuel floating on top the coolant. Not enough in the bottom of the fuel tank...

Any suggestions on lift for pulling a motor

With my C9 on the down side of 700k mi.s, it's time to think about being proactive on replacement with the least amount of downtime. I'm hoping to get 1,000,000 out of it, but I realize I may be dreaming. Despite what others may think about this motor, I've been very pleased, runs smooth...

Anyone able to get Verizon/Panther contractor discount?

I just noticed the Verizon discount on the Panther site but having a time with "account not eligible" messages and 4 calls now to Verizon to gain it, still no avail. Verizon told me my account should be eligible since it is one of the higher priced accounts (hmmmmm maybe I should shop that too)...

Do you tell ur carrier about warning ticket?

I was given a warning ticket by a freindly small town cop in Ohio for no tail lights. Am I obligated to report this to my carrier? Luckily it was an easy fix in the Mc Donalds parking lot. The heavy slushy snow had knocked a ground wire loose. Had a nice talk with Crazy Joe in Jersey...

    Synth back to Mineral

Any problems changing back to mineral from Synth. Have heard it creates problems in gas engines, may be old wive's tale or different for diesels? Reason being, oil pressure seems too low on my Cat C-9, around 37psi at 1500rpm cruise and 15psi at idle when fully warmed up. In a pull up a...

    Rear End Question

2007 M2 345,000 miles, switched to mobil synth 75-90w rear end grease about 100,000 miles ago and now I believe a pinion bearing is going. Noticed a whine in the rear, checked grease level, looked good, no noticeable metal on the magnet, but the pinion housing is getting too warm to the touch...
