Sorry if you feel that way Osama, are all entitled to our opinions though aren't we. Just like my opinion of those whom make assumptions. The first three letters of assumption obviously applies to you for assuming that I am uneducated. Last time that I checked my Bachelors' Degree was still...

Dear Moot, Escort is in West Chester Ohio. Sincerely, Me Don't you people know that you are just feeding my ego. Nothing I love more than rabble-rousing. Read the mottos that seem to offend Moot so. Try as you may you're not going to get to me. Five years as a Union Officer gave me a...

    Dock plates

To add to that I would suggest using 3/4" OSB as it is less flexible than regular plywood and screwing a 4' piece of 4"x4" across the center of the OSB to provide a spacer that both trucks can snug up to so they are not bumping into each others box. Total cost about 20 bucks.

I can admit when I am wrong, and I do stand corrected, thanks Chuck. Will it stop me from using it, no. Guess thats just the Comitteeman in me coming out. Greg, I just love it when you get your hackles up, you remind me of an old counterpart that I used to have to butt heads with on the shop...

Isn't justice supposed to be blind? After all a judge is referred to as a Justice isn't he. Police officers are supposed to be unbiased in their judgement as well. Seems to me some people aren't doing their jobs properly. If a person is breaking the law and gets caught they are entitled to...

Trust me I did my homework first and consulted my brother-in-law whom is a Sheriff's Deputy and he informed me that the use of a Radar/Laser detector is not illegal in commercial-vehicles in the state of Michigan. He is the one who actually recommended the purchase of the Escort as it is VG-2...

    Bear Buster

Decided to buy myself an early Christmas present. Picked up the Escort Passport Radar/Laser Detector at Best buy and decided to try it out on the way home. It started chirping at me on E/B I-94 on my way to Port Huron from Chicago and the Laser indicator was lighting up so I knew that it was...

    what size?

Out of the two I would suggest the 10,000# cube van or an extended Sprinter 2500. But if you are going to be spending that kind of money on a van, I would suggest buying a C-Unit. You don't need a CDL to drive it and you will make just as much money with a C-Unit as you will with a D-Unit...

    Looking For A Good Company

You might want to try C&M Transport they are based out of Ohio and they are a smaller company that runs mostly in the 7 state area, it's my understanding that they are a very good company to work for, and the last that I heard they have been very busy lately, even while the freight with the...

    Cherry Pickin

Out of respect for my employer who does not wish to have the name of his company associated with theese forums I have to keep it a secret. But it is not C&M. Trust me on what I say, my experience with them has been very good, I am not bulls****ing about my load acceptance rate being 100%, and...

I never claimed to work for Panther nor would I ever even consider it. And that is based solely on the hear-say from the former Panther O/O's that I work with who tell me that they never made as much money at Panther, or any other carrier for that matter, as they have at our present carrier. I...

    Cherry Pickin

It seems to me that Panther is the problem. Out of all of the posts that I see on here, Panther is the one company that seems to be the consistent topic of bashing threads. FECC seems to follow at a distant second. Maybe it's just because they have the largest fleets in the industry, seems to...

    Why do you do this?

Yeah Dave it's a real pisser being financially secure. I think that I cried all of the way to the bank. Oh woe as me, I sowed good investments and reaped financial rewards. What to do with myself now... :P

IT IS JUST ABOUT ME FROM HERE ON IN

From a recent post by Broompilot: I watched special on the closing of a GM plant in Pontiac, MI the other day. They were talking about the market demands, etc. But the biggest reason for the fallout of GM, and the layoff of workers was the union. They were showing people who's sole job was to...

    Why do you do this?

Why am I doing this? Good question. Still remains to be answered with me. Just starting out in expediting actually. For five years between the ages of 18 and 23 I was a truck driver. Started out at the bottom in one of those little cabover city trucks with a 14' box on it just making local...

    Union Update!

Whine Whine Whine!!! Greg seems to Forget that these are the terms agreed to by both negotiating parties at the bargaining table. Nobody is being forced to do anything. By the way, Toyota and Honda workers in the U.S. are paid a higher hourly rate than I was, have the same health coverage...

    Get off your donkey

My 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was built in Pontiac Michigan by UAW represented workers. Foreign content on it is 8 percent. 92 percent isn't 100, but it's enough for me. It scored higher in initial quality than the Toyota Tacoma, cost less, and the Tacoma's foreign content is 68 percent...

    Union Update!

Not so much worried about the pensions in the UAW, they're too powerful, especially with the Democrats in charge for the time being. Let me rephrase: 401K fat and juicy; Check, IRA's and Mutual funds secure; Check, absolutely no debts whatsoever; Check. Retiring from a job that paid me well...
