Installing Fan-Tastic Roof Vent on GMC Vans

Hey hey, boys and girls! Just checking in again on this fave old thread I wrote of how to install a roof vent/fan, and to let y'all know that my roof vent installation has been an unparalleled success. It's been ten years now that it's been installed and I still have not had to do a thing to...

Installing Fan-Tastic Roof Vent on GMC Vans

Hey old friends and new expediters! Just checking back in from the road to say that after 6.5 years, the roof vent I installed in this How-To has never leaked and has not needed any maintenance or repairs as far as being re-caulked or re-sealed or anything. It's been through all sorts of...

Oh, I wasn't saying I was enjoying being off the road, but have to admit a good part of being full-time caregiver was enjoyable. But I was itching like crazy the whole time to be back out there looking at the world through a windshield. Best of luck with your painting biz! Hey Mr Xig! Nice to...

Been almost two years since I took myself off the road to tend to mi aging madre and haven't been outside of 40 mile radius of my home 20 but once in that whole time, to go camping for three nights in Hocking Hills. Looks like I may have more time on my hands now, though. . . so am peeking in to...

    Power napping

I usually put it on cruise and climb in the back... If unloaded and parked and thinking I should nap before that next long run, I often get a gentle breeze going in the back of the van, lay down, and play solitaire on my tablet. Usually makes me drift right off.

    No Home Base?

There was a period, I believe, when USAA opened up their banking to a wider customer base, but I don't think they still do, and one needs to be direct in line from, or have been married to, possibly, someone who was in the service and had USAA. It started as a way to provide auto insurance to...

I agree - a big thanks to Lawrence and Carol and all the EO staff, as well as to John, Shelly and Christina at CIS and all the other vendors, like Ray with Espar, who help make the Expo a great gathering.

    Garden 2013 Time line

There's a German place called Morse's on the coast of Maine (famous to locals), that for years put a tiny ad in local papers and hung a sign out, and both simply had two words: "Kraut's Ready" Great stuff.

Expedite Expo The Official Buy, Sell, Trade at Expedite Expo 2013 Thread

Adam at Lodi Metals said they are each 24lbs. I can't verify that though, as when it is a long balanced load, I have a harder time judging weight than if it were a sack of potatoes. Nope, not selling out of the back of the van, though do have them with me at the expo. Sold the e-track via pm...

Expedite Expo The Official Buy, Sell, Trade at Expedite Expo 2013 Thread

The E-Track is now spoken for, but I still have the two new loads bars. They are heavy duty load bars from Lodi Metals rated for 3,000lbs, have e-track ends, and expand from 65"-75", which fits nicely in both CV's and Sprinters. Price new was $52 ea. I'll part with them for $75 for the pair. .

    Websites

I check google news (news.google.com) everyday at least once, as it is not compiled by human editors but by algorithms pulling diverse sources from all over the world. That makes it, overall, far less biased towards this slant or that. You can set up and order the page to reflect your news...

Wilmington OH at the Expo, which has gotten off to a very nice start. Sweet to walk in there and be recognized by name right off by several people, from EO organizers to CIS agents to carriers I've spoken to in the past. Xiggi's Sprinter looks great in the Load One booth, and John from CIS...
