    Three months of flat rate

Depends on the truck. TVAL trucks should gross a MIN of 5K per week. 7-8K, per week, is more like it.

    Three months of flat rate

I think we are seeing Monday loads being dispatched on Thursday either because there are fewer loads available, OR, loads are not getting covered. Long DH gets involved as well. As to 4 or 7 days of work, I would be quite happy with 1 if it paid enough! LOL! Work less, paid more, THAT is the...

    Three months of flat rate

WE are not on that pay system, BUT, some of the benefits we have seen is fewer loads and lower rates. THEN, add to the mix, those who are willing to run for less just to keep their wheels turning, and this is just becoming about as much fun a breaking a left big toe.

We must not forget that as trucks age it's takes longer to get into temp range and more difficult to hold temps. The insulation in these trucks breaks down, forcing the TCU's to work harder.

Not looking a property right now. I could not find anything I thought had enough return on investment. We are keeping that option open. We are exploring some other opportunities. Nothing, except for trucking, is off the table at this point. Out greatest enemy is our age. This would be simple if...

    weekend service

That is the same reason we don't stay home. We are not out here because it's fun. It's business, our income, nothing more. If it can be replaced, we will be out of that business.

We normally get our 34 hour resets over weekends. Home would be my first choice.

There are not as many weekend loads because there are not as many businesses open.

The result of dispatch not having a clue about reality. I too have had problems at a shipper when dispatched too quickly from a load that was set at 70F and the next load was at -20C. It was near 90F that day and humid. I ended up picking up the load but not when I was dispatched for. Many in...

For temps that cold I like to precondition the box a LOT more than that. I know about how long it takes to get into range at any given temp and ambient conditions. I then add about 3-4 hours to that to insure that the probes have settled in and all of the equipment, furniture pads, etc. are...

Var Varies greatly. Depends on ambient temp/humidity, how big the load is and how well the box was conditioned prior to loading. Has been a couple to several hours.

I was not trying to start rumors, I am asking a legit question. There is little sense to what is going on, at least from out here. From my way of thinking any quality company that wished to remain a quality company would be working hard to RAISE standards, instead of lowering them. One does...

I was not taking you wrong, I was agreeing with you. Their push to lower everything is going to backfire, it's just a matter of when. Low rates and high costs means junk equipment. Service will continue to drop. Quality is not going t be able to be maintained. Typical short term thinking. Is a...

Anything less than $2 per mile is losing money. We are already making less, WAY LESS, than we were 3 or 4 years ago and our expenses, both trucking and non-trucking related, continue to rise. That is NOT a good direction to be traveling in. It's kinda like driving down a one way highway in the...
