    Proof of Citizen Ship

All I know is, before the election the US Senate requested a copy of his birth certificate from the State of Hawaii, and the State of Hawaii sent 'em one. The US Senate, including the Republicans, was satisfied with it.

    Pirates

As neat, keen supercool and groovy as that sounds, they really don't. We're not at war with Somalia, or even with the pirates. Piracy is not an act of war, its not even terrorism, it's a criminal act. The US military is not a world police, we're not the 911 phone call for the world's crime...

    weigh stations question

In Arizona, you have to stop and get a trip permit. For 2 axles, the cost is $2.00 for each fifty miles or fraction of fifty miles to be traveled on the highways in any one trip. However, 3/4 ton pickups and vans are specifically exempted.

    Pirates

Chef, yer commin' off looking like a nutcase here. You're rewriting current events to suit you. For one, Gortney was in Bahrain, not Washington. Second, Obama is not "feeding" the MSM press anything. They are reporting the same thing that the press around the world is reporting, including press...

    weigh stations question

Yeah, used to be vans had to log and scale while in Alabama, and I did. But all that changed, and it had to do with the ability go get federal Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program funding. You want federal funding, you gotta play by federal rules. :) If you are in a van (or a long laundry...

    Pirates

I read the same thing from Reuters and the BBC as the story broke. 4 days ago the rules of engagement were reported, and they were simply that no one was to fire upon the pirates unless the hostage was in imminent danger. People can read into that whatever they like, and spin it however they wish.

Re: Pirates! HOW TO HANDLE IT? regarding my comments on the smiper feasibility: Context, please. When I wrote that, the Bainbridge was merely within eyesight, reportedly miles away from the lifeboat. When the snipers did act, they were reportedly within rock throwing distance of the lifeboat...

    cargo van drivers only

Most van drivers will tell you that, particularly right now, a 1000 mile week for an average is really, really good. Most aren't doing that at all for an average over a 2 or 3 month period. But let's say it's 1000 miles a week. On a 60/40 split, the math is really repressing. You'll do good to...

The Other Side Of The Coin

Pretty much, yeah. The strong survive, the weak perish. It works well, always has, always will. If they're too stupid to even make the attempt to keep from falling through the cracks, or too stupid to ask for my help, it's not up to me to see that they don't. Sounds good to me. Or, rather, if a...

    Nations Express - Shaking Ground?

My comments here were based on those jumping to conclusions based on limited or misleading evidence. That you think I have empathy for Nations is a good example of that, actually. I have no empathy at all for Nations. I am not contracted with them nor do I haul freight for them. Carriers come...

The Other Side Of The Coin

BASIC had been around since the mid 60's when it was written by a couple of professors at Dartmouth so that non-scientist students wouldn't have to learn how to write custom software for the computer in order to use it. It was used on almost all computers built after that, especially the...
