What do you look for in a carrier's website?

Fair enough. The thing is, what I as a driver wants from a carrier Web site is far different than what a customer wants, especially with regard to how the company might use that to adapt to an online marketplace. A potential driver would want what Cheri has suggested already, namely plain talk...

What do you look for in a carrier's website?

It's an odd query. I'd like to know the school, the specific assignment, and why the trucking industry. Sounds more like a data mine to find out what is and is not on the various carrier's Web sites. Might be on the level, but like I said, it's an odd query for an academic research paper.

    More BS about Fatigued Drivers

This is really more an issue of entrapment, and a 5th amendment issue, than anything.

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

I didn't say that. I said it's highly unlikely. I also said I've never heard of an ECM being damaged by a code reader. Code readers are passive with regards to electrical output, and the electronics on the ECM are set up specifically to prevent electrical spikes that would fry the chips. Yeah...

    K-nine cab searches

The only time I've had a dog search inside the van was when I delivered to the UN Building. Delivered there twice, dogs in the van both times.

Obama shakes hands with Hugo Chavez

Not only did he shake hands, he smiled while doing it. Of course, he did the same thing with the other 33 presidents who were there. A smile and a handshake does not a new relationship make.

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

Well, no, I know that, but the principle is the same. It's a port connection that the reader uses. The readers for cars have different software than the ones for trucks, but they all work exactly the same.

Great start for Obama and America!

Your sense of humor just cracks me up. Dry, witty, sarcastic and sardonic. Man, that's funny stuff. :D

    Crooked Drivers Too

Which begs the question, why was it allowed to happen the second time, much less several times? The relationship should have been severed immediately after the first occurrence. An ignored red flag like that is asking for trouble. While drinking on a PRO isn't something that is likely to show up...

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

For one, it's highly unlikely that plugging a code reader into the ECM port is going to damage the ECM. You can buy code readers at Autozone. I've never heard of a code reader damaging an ECM. The only way that's going to happen is if you plug it in while the engine is running and you get an...

The Other Side Of The Coin

MrGuatama, you wanna make this about me, and get personal, or about the issues? As for Social Security, no, it's no longer a trust fund, as the government had borrowed from it now to the point where it is a part of the Federal Budget and is accounted for as part of the general revenue. Look it...

Landing Strip or Smooth As Silk? I really could care less what the tarmac looks like. I'm more interested in getting into the hangar. Canadian soft drinks use cane sugar, while US soft drinks use corn syrup. Mostly it's political, and it involves government subsidies of the corn industry and...

    cargo van drivers only

Depends on what you mean by effective. If you say something about "your company" and you name them by name, and "your company" doesn't like what you say about them, they could very well effectively never give you another load, or simply and effectively, cancel your contract.

None, and if we were living back then in that situation in that time, that situation would apply. It doesn't apply today. it's easy to sit back and wonder why we aren't going in there and blowing them up, but it's not like every other country hasn't considered the same thing. Yeah, it's...

Why "we"? They took 4 more boats today, not one of which belonged to the US. The pirates have to be dealt with, but not by invading and destroying Somalia. That makes US the bully.
