    No forced dispatch...

Seems like we just hit a nerve with the guy. Ya'll know him better than I do, but honestly at one time I was him. I hated Fedex sooo bad.. (I know, not very Christian) but man I really couldn't pass one of their trucks without going off.. Seems like the Rev. has something eating him.. and...

    Truck delima..

When Ya'll say "Log" does that mean that the van driver is held to HOS regs or just keeping the records?

    Truck delima..

LOL.. thanks X0 but I'm still torn between the F450 Cutaway box van and the regular E350 cargo van. But the one thing I'm sure of is that I WILL NOT be a fleet owner and/or even slip seat a truck. Not going to happen.. Although my "fleet" was just a Home Delivery contract I don't plan to...

    No forced dispatch...

LOL.. next time you see that lil dog notice he only has three legs, we nicknamed him "tripod".. We used to say "I thought to myself what would our honorable mascot, tripod, do in this situation" then we would say I decided to pss on it and leave it at the gate.. (not litterally)

"learning curve always takes a twist thru the wallet..." Thanks vanman that's exactly why I'm here.. If I had of found a site like this before I signed on with fedex "Home" it sure would have saved me a lot of money and headache.. Thanks, dave

    No forced dispatch...

Thanks all.. I got the picture. "Names Changed but the song remains same" Jack, sorry I didn't mean to infer that the guy in the other thread was pressured into the load. And yes, at the end of the day the driver is ultimately responsible for what goes on their donky. Thanks, dave

    No forced dispatch...

.."open door policy" "No turn down pnalties". Ok, so I've noticed these slogans are on the recruiting page of just about all the carriers. Iv'e been away from the OTR stuff for well over 10 years with the exception of some dedicated line haul work I didin 02. With that said, I was...

    Truck delima..

Thanks Moose and Richard, Good stuff.. I guess hazmat now falls under the "homeland security" stuff. Do CVs have to follow the FMC or DOT rules and regs? Hmm..to answer my own question.. I'm sure they do if they are operating as a commercial vehicle. Any thoughts on the truck delima? I...

    Truck delima..

Yeah RE = Real Esate agent and the P=Passenger. To answer the question on my Haz endorsement it's old so yes I am going down to take a new test and have the background check this week. Our lab puppy ate my license (and many other things in our home) so when I went down to get a duplicate...

    Truck delima..

Hey Moose, Thanks for the reply. As for driving the straight truck for someone, I thought about that originally but as I read though here and looked at the ads it seems that straight truck owners want teams. I can't says that I blame em. One thing I was thinking is that with these hard...

    Truck delima..

..actually it's more of a business decision. I've been lurking here for a while so let me get the basics outta the way. I have a Class A (T,Dbl,Trpl,H,P) but I'm not really looking at driving a straight truck (D). I'm thinking more along the cargo van lines (E Series ford 7.3) I actually...

Is this good or bad for Expedite.

This is very true but you have to understand that if FX can get the freight to either their Ground or Home delivery division by the AM then from there the cost to FX is only +/-1.50 as an oppointment delivery. I owned a "Home delivery" contract/fleet (whatever)and I was amazed at the...
