    Straight VS. Cargo Van

I can not stretch this subject enough, but my opinion is, if you are leased on to a carrier that keeps you busy and loaded at all times, than it does not matter what unit you have. If your carrier wants to convince you that you might want to switch from cargo to straight and the loads are not...

    EXPO 05

I wish I would have had the opportunity to attend. Signed up for the workshop and had the tickets along, but did not make it around the lake. Perhaps the EXPO should not be in the middle of the week, where everybody is waiting for that one run. I can't afford to loose a penny right now, but I...

    Health Insurance

@Broom: I was looking into BCBS a little closer. Seems to work out in my area. But I did not understand that prescription saver card program. I much rather like drug coverage. Seems there is a seperate deductable plan for drugs also. Any idea how that works? I pay any meds I need full price...

RE: What is the philosophic objection RE: Health >Does everyone pay the same flat rate per month for insurance >in Canada? How does it work? In Europe at least it is like this: The rate is determined by what your monthly gross income is. There are many health insurance providers...

    Health Insurance

Broom: BCBS did not really jump out on me, I think I also was a little confused with the deductables. I guess I am having a little bit of a hard time getting used to a individual health plan. I am 41, and with a $2500 deductable, I will have to pay that amount first in case I end up in the...

    Health Insurance

Rich, I got a phone call several weeks ago from a company that basically is a sister-company to Mega, unfortunately they don't take on people that have signed up with Mega, even tho they are 30% cheaper. I did not take the name down then since I was covered, but like to check them out again. Any...

    Health Insurance

Those of you, who are not covered under a spouse's health insurance plan, can you please direct me where to find affordable health insurance? I am not looking for a prescription savings plan or any other health cost savings plan. What companies are trustworthy and don't rip you off in case of a...

    No BOL

I don't understand either. If I have to take over freight lets say in Chicago, and the company driver comes down and meets me at some dock, I have to have the paperwork in order to deliver. I guess I never went to a place without any paperwork. Besides, I have to call in to dispatch after POD...

    HELP!!!! MIAMI, FL

I was in the Fort Myers area this past weekend and hoped for a load up north. But nothing came out off it, since the stock market closed early because of the extreme heat...Never heard of such a thing before. For me it is hot always. Down there at least. Since I was not dispatched there, but...

    No good deed goes unpunished

Tom, I am very sorry to hear of your dilemma. It is slow for me too since a few weeks and it seems it is not really picking up for me this year. I am busy tho, but not enough. I am averaging 1 load less a week, plus a hefty insurance rate, since my old company quoted me wrong for too long...

    Cargo Van

Unfortunately many companies don't add cargo vans right now. As far as my company goes, some larger units are most of the time half empty...I wonder how long thay can keep that up.

is there a good backhaul website for expeditors (s

RE: is there a good backhaul website for expeditor Raceman, when I had subscribed to them, I only found loads that paid $100 for a 500 mile run. If I did that the whole week just to make up for a slow week, it would not even pay for the gas. I guess one might have better chances with a straight...

is there a good backhaul website for expeditors (s

RE: is there a good backhaul website for expeditor I wish there was more sites with smaller loads for vans, but most of these sites post larger loads and cost an arm and a leg. I tried it and nothing came off of it, except too many phonecalls.
