    Marker Lights: Must Have?

Oddly enough, it never occurred to me to look in the rule book. Once I did as suggested, it is pretty clear that you need amber marker lights as "high on the box as practical", and spread out to the far edges, if your truck is over 80 inches wide (not high as posted above). As also noted above...

    Marker Lights: Must Have?

I'm sure I read that you don't have to have marker lights on your box, but if you do they must work. It also seems that some of the custom trucks go sans markers. I'd really like to get rid of my markers in front top of box, they are seemingly constantly burning out or getting snapped off, and...

how would you handle this situation?

"Truthfully speaking here" says Greg. So, were you lying all the time before and just now decided to start telling the truth? Are you really advising this gentleman to cut off all relations with his wife's family? The life we have here is pretty short as you well know, so how about a little...

how would you handle this situation?

Greg, this thread isn't about YOU. Ark if it really matters to you our opinion here? Take the high road and consider your wife's feelings first, she is your family. I am certain you are smart enough to deal with the pop without doing anything ridiculous that would harm YOUR immediate family.

board position does it really matter???

The Panther dispatchers have a set of guidelines they must follow, there are loopholes and sometimes they may bend the rules (just like you do)but over all they are monitered and very fair. You must also realize that there is a very high turnover rate with dispatchers there (high pressure/low...

    Sprinter Towing Capacity

Could I tow a 8 to 13 thousand pound trailer behind any configuration of one of these Sprinter models? I am thinking about towing a large boat, but it might also make sense commercially if you can back a trailer.

Are sprinters worth the time financially?

Pics of the "chics who dig sprinters" would be great. Very useful post. Needs to be archived in the FAQ. Now about those Sprinter groupies...

    Independent finding loads

Yes you are a "threat". Just more competition, and probably taking cheap freight too. But, I wish you the best and am not mad. The real expedite field is just like the economy, it expands and contracts and weeds out the weak or uncomitted. BTW, I have been constantly working on the basically the...

how would you handle this situation?

That's the right idea, talk to the wife, tell her how strongly you feel, and then the both of you can work out a plan that works for her. It IS her dad. Communication and patience, Ark.

board position does it really matter???

Teams get the over 500 mile runs before the solos so the load doesn't have to swap. Team=lucky. Go for it! There's is nothing like a good run to re-charge your attitude.

    Put Out Of Service

"Refusing to negotiate" is a true story. I said "No, thank you." to a load offer. The dispatcher kept hounding me, I repied that it was not about the money, again, no thank you. I was put out of service. To make it worse, my phone was locked out, Panther wouldn't take my calls. I happened to be...

    Put Out Of Service

I have never been put out for refusing a load per se, but one dispatcher put me out for "refusing to negotiate", I got that thrown out pretty quick. Otherwise put out for administrative stuff, no problem except that it would have been easily handled if I had KNOWN (and it wasn't stuff in the...

how not to unload a truck

Ow! If he had a seatbelt on would/did it help? I'd like to make a comment about the intelligence level of your average fork truck driver, but I drive an expedite truck for a living so I can't really say much (it's that glass house and stone throwing thing :) ).

    Put Out Of Service

I have been placed out of service more than once, for good enough reasons. The PROBLEM is that I was not notified, not once, never. I have taken to checking my status on the PC. This is also good for keeping track of refusals that shouldn't be charged as a refusal. I think I'll go check my...

    D-MAX AND CUBE VAN

I don't know much about vans but I feel your best monsy is probably made with a straight truck. 24' box gives you a few more opportunities over a 22' box. I would not consider less than a 22'. Also prefer swinging doors, more work but less breakage.
