What typically would be considered a "C" unit.

I'm trying to get some specs for what might constitute a C Unit. What typically would the weight requirement be...is it around 6000lb load capacity? and how much of a box would be considered enough. and how crucial is it that the inside width be 96 inches? Thanks in advance.

    C unit with a 16 foot box

Thx box is not 96 inches wide. The gross vehicle weight is 19000lbs. I'm not absolutely sure yet but I believe the truck empty weight should be a little under 13000lbs. Is this totally out of line? I will be driving solo but I think the operating cost of a D unit or for that matter a true C unit...

    Is Unicell around?

Do you have a van with a box either the cutaway or van and chassis? If so Unicell will remove the old box and put there's on. If you have a regular cargo van I think you might have a problem. The removal would be a little more complicated and not sure if your wheel base will take a very big box...

    What time izzit?

I thought the time given for delivery was in the delivery time zone. Hence, one needed to be on their toes when picking up West and delivering back East.

shredded tire on road, what happens? a newbie ques

RE: shredded tire on road, what happens? a newbie About those "Gators" Besides t he retreads another cause could & would be under inflated tires. When a tire is low there is a lot more surface rubbing down the road and the tire will overheat and cause a blowout... good reason to check your...

    Financial goals

I would be careful on using figures based on maxing out your daily logs. The problem with solo driving is the HOS so you'll be limited on your miles. Not everyday is going to be a 600 mi. day and there will definately be some downtime..how much? I too will be in the same boat so I'm trying to...

RE: downshifting tips for eaton-fuller 7 spd non-s I can remember when I went to TT school for my cdl that the instructor asked me if I could drive stick. I said of course and he said "too bad" You're going to have to forget about what you know and start over. You'll get the hang of it after...

    How about stretching?

Some of the truck dealerships do it..and of course some of the big sleeper companies. If you know where you're ordering your box from you might want to talk to them. There are a few different ways of stretching a frame ( some good some bad). I have no expertise in this area but you might try...

    How about flatbeds

Sounds like you might be equipped as a hotshot. That's someone who is usually transporting cars, or the like. If that is the case you might check out the ads on Ebay for auto transporters and contact one of those companies. There is a small company in Streamwood, Illinois that started out as a...

My Business Plan....What Do You Think....???

Well I figure that you're having a little fun with us here but there are a few things that you have said that got me to thinking.
