    News, FYI

You are SO right! I used to work in Quality Control and have said many times that I would go nuts if I worked for Freightliner. Even little things get screwed up, like the trim on the door not completely meeting, or glue dripped on the headliner. How anyone could let something like that come out...

    FED EX CC or Conway-Now

Don't be afraid of Alumi-Bunk. Just make sure to custom order what YOU want and visit the shop before and during construction. The guys and gals up in Dundalk are an excellent bunch.

    Work Accident Insurance

It may be deductible, but that's $40/week I could spend on something much more useful...like diesel!I don't understand why they require Worker's Comp, then offer a plan that specifically says it is not in any way to be considered WC? Also, the disablity benefit is determined by taking 66% of...

    LEA

That makes two of us. Did 3 runs, made $3800. Now if this could happen every week, I'd be a happy camper!

    Were do you think?

So, from your experience, have you learned NOT to go to AZ or Idaho, or any state west of the Mississippi? We did! That's why Roberts continues to put so many trucks on. They need to keep the newbies coming in so they can send them on the dead end loads.

How in the hell did he do that????

We locked ourselves out once. Managed to get in thru the sleeper window. Now, I carry my set of keys even when we're home. If you make a habit of always carriyng them, the only way you'll get locked out is to have a hole in your pocket!

    Sprint PCS

I never had to sign any sort of contract with SprintPCS, that's one of the reasons I went with them. I don't think there's any company out there offering exactly what we all want-true nationwide coverage for the same low price-but someday...

    Express One

I have a friend leased to Express One and he really likes them. As far as having to pay for break downs, my lease states the same. What it means is that if the company has to incurr additional charges because of a preventable breakdown or accident, they will charge you back for those costs.

    Who's putting on vans?

Your best bet would be to decide what company you want to lease on with, and then find an owner with that company that wants to sell their van. Try the classifieds here or contact the recruiters. They often are in touch with owners looking to sell or find drivers. Once you have a van on, you can...
