I have a 2007 Hino 268, I will be driving it and it will go into limp mode, I shut the truck down and it resets and runs fine for a while but then does it again. Any ideas on what the cause is? Thanks
The most common causes of limp mode, in my experience, are VNT or EGR failure. Other things can cause this, too. Getting the codes out of the computer is essential for diagnosing.
Before you replace the turbo make sure the linkage is lubricated. Also you can take apart the actuator without removing the turbo, there is a thread that I posted pictures of mine when I did it. If the motor terminals inside are not burnt then more than likely you can fix it.
